So I had a bit of a wild idea. I assume this is possible. Write a track, pan everything to the left, send it to your mixer. On the right channel use a sawtoothy type wave form with your vocal melody on it, send it to your talk box.

Has anyone tried this? I assume it would work. Thoughts?

Yea I used to do something like this with the EHX Vocoder. Worked better with a 50/50 square wave pushed super loud. Not a fan of talkboxes cause sticking tubes in your mouth be gross.

I did this with LSDJ a while back. And I did one even better with piggy: the EHX v256 had a MIDI in so I sent some arps from piggy to it for some effing autotune arps. Yes, I'm the mack dad.
