In order to celebrate CalmDownKidder's fifth anniversary, I've scoured the globe to get some of THE BEST chiptune acts, for your aural pleasure.

///LINEUP\\\

▰▰▰ 4mat - https://www.facebook.com/4matofficial ▰▰▰

**FIRST UK SHOW**

Matt Simmonds has been creating music & sound design for games since the early 1990s. Under the handle 4mat he also worked on demoscene productions, being one of the pioneers of ‘chip modules’ for the Amiga computer. He left the demoscene in 1992 to concentrate on commercial work, but made a return to chipmusic in recent years with the album releases Decades and Surrender.

▰▰▰ cTrix (AU) - http://www.facebook.com/pages/cTrix/118258328189500 ▰▰▰

cTrix makes music with oldskool computers from 1977 - 1992. He then takes them to a gig, sets everything up to run live and lets burst a range of syles.

His music has been described as: "a phat and funky breaks/house style mixed with early 90's vokal rave samples, buzzing oldskool sounds and early jungle D'n'B all mixed into one show." His additional works span progressive rock, 80's business funk and psy.

cTrix intergrates a Gameboy, C64, Atari 2600, Lynx and beloved Amiga 500 & 1200 to work together, not limited to one style or sound. While you might not know what to expect at a show, you can expect one thing: to have a f**king awesome time!

▰▰▰ Cheapshot (JP) - https://www.facebook.com/cheapshotmusic ▰▰▰

Cheapshot is strongly influenced by dubstep bass lines, 8-bit music and all things that go BOOM! His chiptune monsters combine dub, uk funky, dubstep and breakbeat. His latest release is a sprawling video-game concept album 'Beats of Rage'. His earlier works can be found on Metrodub, 8bitpeoples, Amenorea Records, and Enough Records.

Their live shows are a real treat - not to be missed!

The Tin Foil Hat Brigade (or James Bentley to his mates) is a Liverpool, England based act who uses Nintendo Game Boys to create his fusion of power-pop and punk stylings.
When he is not running top chipmusic netlabel ‘CalmDownKidder Records’, James is performing his unusual style of music to happy, confused, annoyed and shellshocked audiences all around the world, from Nottingham to New York and Shoreditch to Scotland! TTFHB has performed at the likes of Edinburgh Festival, Liverpool Threshold Festival, and recently Liverpool Sound City 2012!

http://www.yha.org.uk/hostel/liverpool <-- Recommended by a chum I know, she said it was "reet good" (they may not have been her exact words) - it's close to the City Centre.
http://www.everton.hostel.com/ <-- Recommended by AdamGetsAwesome, he stayed there and enjoyed it very much, it's a little bit of a walk to the venue from here, probably about 5-10 minutes in a taxi though.
http://hattersgroup.com/#lpool <-- Don't know anyone who has been here.
