I'm tooting my own horn here, but I think this was worth saving:

Telerophon: I am considering replacing the Lightbulb graphic for the "TIP!" sections with MS Office's Clippy for the EPUB edition of the LSDj Manual. Thoughts?
Zxen: Heh. Go for it.
Telerophon: "TIP! If you want to compose in waltz time (3/4), put H00 commands on step C in every phrase."
Telerophon: "HI, IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE TRYING TO WRITE A WALTZ! WOULD YOU LIKE MY HELP?"

<Heosphoros> I'm sitting around, want to go to the power store, but I don't want to deal with traffic
<nigel> wait there's a place called the power store
<nigel> are we talking like electricity or brute strength
<Heosphoros> talking about my fuel
<Heosphoros> aka beer
<nigel> so we're talking about the power of regret and shame
<Heosphoros> nah I don't roll that way when I'm drunk
<Heosphoros> more like the power of shutting down my brain for a bit
<Heosphoros> or at least making sure it doesn't turn fully on
<nigel> yeah feelings are for average home boys

We digressed into a bunch of really fun philosophical conversations tonight:

<Telerophon> Interesting, I'd never explicitly conflated swagger with conspicuous consumption, but I can see the logical connection.
<Telerophon> I'd always thought it was more continuing with your business in spite of public widespread criticism.
<Telerophon> but I will have to research this further.
<Christian> Well, swagger problematizes conspicuous consumption by assuming it as a given; the dialectical implication is either that the systems that lead to swagger must stop, or must be made universally available.
<Christian> Which serves to place swagger as uniquely futurist - by its assumption of abundance, it implies that it is the default mode of being for whensoever futurist technology and social systems supply such a mode of living universally.
