Wireless hand control test!...using leapmotion controller >>FMdrive VSTi and GenMDM
Some extended Sega Genesis BGM covers with FMDrive.... classic FM
In case new users did not read the whole thread,
some additional infos about the CSM Speech Synthesis mode can be found here http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/11028
sm-sounds/
It is also worth mentioning that this formant synthesis technology that was once deep embedded (hidden...?) in some Yamaha FM chips (included the YM2612) , came back in its latest form in the FS1R unit, witch was and still is, the latest and most powerful FM / Formant synthesizer ever made by Yamaha...
Just another Mac User wanting in on this action
I just complete an FB01 FM (YM2164) Module whole banks patch rip for FMDrive! (.tfi format) available for free download in few days @ www.alyjameslab.com (download section)
This patches are YM2151 compatible but also YM2612, they are pretty classic but really nice with velocity sensitive input.
I will also link you all to a PCM samples dump archive for a bunch of Megadrive games
and finally put in the download section my modified version of oerg866 VGM PCM data Dumper (sound added when searching/extracting and basically skip the registers extraction part) to dump your own samples from VGM files
Aaaaaaand ....the PSG vst is Done! I will need a few more days to update the website and write the manual (because there is a looooooooooots of features) then I will drop the release Public on the same basis as FMDrive
"will be trans-coded into a VGM File (soon)." yeah! waiting for it :3

I am waiting on Valley Bell's side (VGM format authority) to update the current MIDI 2 VGM converter to support standardized MIDI CC# (GenMDM, FMDrive...)
I gave him an updated list and also informations how to handle CSM...
He will take care of this in his spare time.
For now you can still convert to VGM with mid2vgm if needed but you cannot change one parameter without sending a patch change.
That is why MIDI CC# support will be handy.
If you can go for now with "static" presets and Program changes it is already working!
EDIT: You can still make complicated evolving sound on only one channel with patch changes...it is just more programming work.
Here it is! FB01 FM (YM2164) Module whole banks patch rip for FMDrive! or VGMM (.tfi format)

This FM sound-chip was built in in the CX5M Yamaha CX5M Music Computer. Basically it's an MSX computer compatible with all MSX software and games but with the addition of an add-on sound module incorporated into the design of the computer, known as the SFG-01, it will be embedded into the FB01 MIDI compatible module later on.
By the way you can even mess with the FB01 via the Blue MSX emulator...
This patches are YM2151 compatible but also YM2612, they are pretty classic but really nice with velocity sensitive input.
Now here is a PCM samples dump archive I have found for a bunch of Megadrive games, the author of this compilation should be credited but I have unfortunately no infos...:

Soon I will also add my modified version of oerg866 VGM PCM data Dumper (sound added when searching/extracting and basically skip the registers extraction part) to dump your own samples from VGM files
You are also invited to visit the SUPER PSG VST thread here http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/12578 ded-synth/ as I have released the manual and some new infos like release date
I received FMDRIVE yesterday and my first impressions after last night and tonight are fantastic! I'm so happy to have these sounds at my disposal.
I can definitely recommend this to anyone who may be on the fence about getting it.
So, FMDrive (Megadrive/Genesis) and SPSG (PSG) VST ...VGM conversion! available in a few weeks I am currently debugging the tool with Valley Bell (VGMRIPS) and so far it works fine.
VGM can then be turned into ROM files to play on the console (Sega Megadrive or Master System).
Here is some previews :
