Not to offend but imho r4isdhc.com cards are generally speaking, piles of crap, copies of copies and the updates are sloooow.

One possibility to remember also is that you may have on your hands a copied copy of a copy, happens more than you might think and is the reason a lot of cards have anti-counterfit stickers & codes.

These cause all kinds of havok and most end users have no idea.

r4i-sdhc.com cards however are a completely different story, I would highly recommend getting one and throwing this $2.50 card in the bin or if on a super tight budget, even a TT3ds would out perform this card.

Just my 2 cents tongue

so i pretty musch bought a fake? Are the r4i sdhc dual core and the Happy Holidays Cards also fakes? Can you redirect me to a site that doesnt sell fake cards? i got mine from nds-card.com(preferably under $20 ?)

Well not necessarily, it might be a legitimate r4isdhc which are not fake, but they are however a copy of another copy.

The dual core are pretty much the same other than having RTS features.

r4igold.com and r4igold.cn cards are ok, but still not the highest of quality.

I sell hundreds of Acekard 2i's and R4i-sdhc.com cards, the acekard I sell more of and they cost more, however I beleive that the r4i-sdhc.com cards are equally as good for a fraction of the price.

What country are you in? I'll try and find you a reputable local seller.

Both the cards I mentioned are usually under the $20 mark.

I know that this is hella vague, but http://gbatemp.net/categories/nintendo- … ssions.37/
There was a thread a while back that linked to a bunch of reliable sellers, and also showed which sites sold fakes etc.

Do you think the dstwo is a good choice?  http://www.modchipcentral.com/store/sup … cable.html

Don't bother with a Supercard, they are very very old tech, very pricey and they only real advantages they offered were gb/gba emulation, realtime save and the ability to slow the game speed, real time save is on most cards and gb/gba emulation has been accomplished with emulators now anyway so unless your really in need of variable speed, don't bother.

I reccommend either a R4i-SDHC or TT3DS

Ok first of all im never buying it if it says r4 or r4i because they wont play commercial ds games which is the reason i bought one in the first place ( i currently have an r4i sdhc silver and all i can do on it is use emulators and homebrew.) second of all how is supercard old tech? i want a dstwo because it plays gba games and will most likely play commercial ds games.

No, don't confuse all R4/R4i's to be the same, they are all massively different beasts.

An R4i-SDHC.com is an excellent card for the price and cannot be compared to a r4isdhc.com card.
I have sold hundreds of these, they play all commercial/retail games and all homebrew I've been able to find

And you can easily play all GBA/GBC/GB games using gbaemu4ds http://ichfly.github.io/gbaemu4DS/ which actually works better on the R4i-SDHC.com as it doesn't run wood kernel.

The only thing a super card will get you for its price is the ability to slow games, that is it.

The reason I say to avoid them is because they are

A. Pricey and offer no real benefit over other cards.
B. Take a long time to be updated.
C. They don't fit into the cart slot well due to the ASIC bulging out the top.

It's up to you of course, I can't force you to buy anything haha but I would highly recommend buying one of the two I posted, you won't be disappointed.  There is a reason all good card sellers stock them wink

EDIT: Just to be clear r4isdhc.com and r4i-sdhc.com cards are not made by the same people, they are completely different groups and factories smile

lol r4 not playing commercial games. 90% of the people I know who own r4s use them solely to avoid paying for games.

Yes, although the card you have now runs on wood kernel, so all your roms must be in .agb, .bin or .mb format as wood kernel doesn't allow .gba's for whatever reason, unlike the r4i-sdhc.com wink

I can personally guarantee that you will have no trouble with the r4i-sdhc.com card if you buy it from the link I provided, I know Sylvester (one of the owners of modchip central) and have even been a business partner with him, he's a good guy and sells only top notch products.

If you have any trouble whatsoever I will be more than happy to help!

Can't tell if sarcastic or seriously asking tongue

Just a bit of a side note, gbaemu4ds can take a bit of setup to get it running right, I forgot this until I redownloaded it yesterday.

I guess you just have to choose what you really want out of the card, I know I said avoid dstwo's but if your really into GBA emulation it may be a easier option, not cheaper though.

If you buy the r4i and aren't happy, hit me up and I'll send you one of the test dstwo carts I've got kicking around if you cover postage smile
