I know this has been asked a million times, but I'm wondering where to start? Where is the best place to buy cartridges? What should I know before I even buy a cart? What other accessories or programs do I need for transferring files?

I usually use fl and never really explored tracking. I want something portable and this seems to be the best for me. I've tried ds plus and didn't like it at all. I don't like being limited in pattern length.

Heads up though because LSDJ won't exactly make this much easier for you.. wink

I didn't think so but I just don't like how on the ds you can only do 16 notes or what ever. Is it like that on lsdj?

Yep! But at least the demos will give you an idea of song workflow. Nanoloop isnt available in rom form for the full version, you have to buy their carts.

So let's say I end up learning shit and write a bunch of tunes on emu. If I get a cart, I can transfer the saves to it?
