I've got the PO14, but I've not used the sequencer on it; just playing about with the sounds 'live' when recording. I'm pretty shit with the learning curve of new sequencers, so have found more use composing on LSDJ and then using MIDIOUT to something like a Korg Volca. Since the POs don't have MIDI input I've kind of shied away from using them a lot. They're cool, but more a fun sound creation gadget than useful for compositions (for me anyway).

Not sure about all of them, but previous models have been based primarily on that idea:

You can get flats/sharps by using effect parameters, but it feels like a bit of a pain to do so.

If you write most of your tracks in D or A minor, rather than C major, it's not too bad, but yeah it's a bit of a silly restriction. It would have been nice if the scale could at least be transposed up/down without using up the effect slot.
The PO-12 (rhythm) has two micro synths that can play a full chromatic scale, but they're limited in sound.

It sounds great, but the diatonic-only way of composing would prevent me for ever to get one 
It would have been easy to use the current way of entering notes, and add the sharp and flat with the rotary switch...
