I actually got a refund from Seb today. I've been following him on twitter for a couple of years with the express intention of bringing up the GenMDM at every opportunity. I guess he finally got sick of me calling him a scam artist and sent me my money back.

Wrong tree, my dog. Your barks fall upon deaf ears.

Just to clarify, DIY GenMDM can be built with your own parts. Everything you need is on http://little-scale.blogspot.com/search
0tutorials . This includes step by step instructions , Firmware http://little-scale.blogspot.com/search
20firmware for the teensy, tools for Max patches and ableton, and TFI files from just about every sega game. There is also DIY instructions for sega master system midi interface/ http://little-scale.blogspot.com/2012/1
-midi.html .I hope this clears up some user frustration.

P.S. if your not so hot with electronics and soldering you can just pick up the Elektron Digitone FM synthesizer (inspired by GenMDM) and make sega hardware music right out of the box. https://www.elektron.se/products/digitone/

Elektron Digitone FM synthesizer (inspired by GenMDM)]
It's not inspired by the GenMDM, but you can certainly make Megadrive-esque music with it.

A quick search didn't return any mention of PCB files, cart files, program data, etc.

Hmm yeah i jumped the gun there a little bit, you can still maybe use the tut for the master system but replace normal arduino with teensy arduino and GenMDM cart has 2 EPROM chips https://www.utsource.net/itm/p/540392.h gKPhfD_BwE and https://www.ebay.com/p/1pc-Am29f010-70p amp;chn=ps then make the controller port dongle like the SMS one but connect it to the teensy pins and flash your teensy 2.0 with the genmdm 1.3 firmware. should get someone somewhere?

https://soundcloud.com/elektron/digitone-zetaforceI am quite certain some of the Digitone developers own GenMDM and were inspired by it, (and other FM synths.)
I guess you're referring to the Cuckoo video from NAMM - I think we touched on the Megadrive at some part, Cuckoo is a big fan of chipmusic as well. I don't mean to be a nitpicky asshole, I just don't want there to be a misconception. The Digitone is not designed to be similar to the YM2612 in any way, but since they're both 4OP you can go into that area of sounds, certainly. That said, the heavy quantization noise and aliasing of the 2612 (and output from Megadrive+various verisons of it) is a big part of the specific sound of the Megadrive/GenMDM.
I regret selling my GenMDM now, years later... There's something special about every Yamaha chip and its implementation! (I'm more of an OPL3 guy though...)
Wasn't there some person making 3rd party GenMDMs and selling them on eBay? Can't remember how long ago that was, but perhaps there is hope for a DIY solution?

Today I'm proud to announce something I've been working on for about 3 years. I have worked with little-scale to release genMDM again! Included is an all new interface design with USB as well as DIN MIDI.
For those that previously purchased an interface and did not receive one, I will be fulfilling old orders. Please purchase an interface and then email me with the details of your original order, and I'll refund everything but the cost of shipping. If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

If anyone is afraid of this new vendor, let me vouch for catskull being a great dude who is trying to do things right. His products are also top notch!
