Sigh. Anyone who's ran a community forum knows how one asshat can make everyones experience miserable.
Also you'd know everything is a balance- Too much patrolling and people hate it, too little and a few jerks run the site into the ground.
Some of us have come from other sites either as mods or devs or both, we've tried to improve upon our experiences.
This site is modded by a team of people, almost all decisions are made via committee- Including mod rules, site rules, and enforcing them. If you have a specific issue, PM one of us so we can get on the same page. Closing threads usually is either because a topic has gone out of hand and off topic, or in some rare cases closed by request of the author of the thread.
There are no conspiracies, mods are not rogues, there are no random reasons for our actions, and most of us are usually on IRC- Espernet #chipmusic.
