Cheap Dinosaurs. Now close this fucking thread.

A gray world of dread

EvilWezil has good riffs and knows to play with signatures. Might be a little too happy for you, maybe.

Hmm, Chalices of the Past maybe. more glitchy than metal though.

Norrin_Radd is the jackpot right there though, given your list.

my vote goes to Ubiktune's compilation album Up, by an artist who i think goes by the name of "Various Artists"

http://ubiktune.org/releases/ubi019/

tons of super-progressive off-the-wall stylings by many internet-famous chipstars.   Maxo 01's tune is probably one of the craziest pieces i've heard in recent months.

Thanks for all the brilliant suggestions guys.  I have indeed heard many of your suggestions already and probably should have listed some of them in the original post...so sorry about that (even though I know we all love to talk about the music we like so I'm sure it's no big deal).  I'll be checking out the rest while doing my hurricane of math assignments...probably starting with Cheap Dinosaurs to help me cope with No Carrier's comment.

Also, what microB said.  I don't know how happy EvilWezil's music is though...it's sorta happy in a "we are all going to die one day" kind of way.

Heh, depends also on the album (the eponymous debut is quite happy, imo), but I was thinking more in comperative terms towards death / prog / tech metal. tongue

Download the album "last chance for redemption"
One of the most hardcore chip albums out there imo. Love this album.

Also check out Heosphoros and Dr. Zilog

Let me rephrase that...Pwntendo and some videos (youtube) of We Are High Speed and Level One: Where Am I got me into it.  A friend of mine LOVES your stuff so I heard it quite often.  If I'm to pass the word onto others that are newly interested in chipmusic I usually suggest Venetian Snares or you since that's what did it for me.

PS: This thread is straight up slammin'
