If you go to kitsch-bent's website you can get the EMS USB cartridge and he'll even flash LSDJ onto it if you provide him with proof of purchase of LSDJ. Or if you want to go fancy you can get a BleepBloop cartridge with LEDs in it, etc...

Here's a thread with more info: http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/3988/ … hip-music/

Happy chipping, and I think you'll find that most of the community is supportive smile

- Donate to get LSDJ ---> http://www.littlesounddj.com/lsd/
- Buy a 64mb USB cart ---> http://kitsch.bigcartel.com/    or     http://www.nonelectronics.com/index.php
- Get at me for any help with setting it up or composing in LSDJ

Good luck and have fun!  Once you get into it...

you'll never be able to stop...

Edit: Damn...Spinning Voices beat me to it.

Take no notice of mizu.

As spinning voices said, get an EMS from kitsch: http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/usb-64m-smart-card other places sell it but i think most people would agree that kitsch ships fastest.

I don't think the patchbook is hosted anywhere anymore but some patches are here: http://8bc.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=2628 or there's an iphone app of patches: http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/4131/ … or-iphone/

Edit: seems 8BR beat me to it...

Trust me...opening that package will be like finding El Dorado...

Opening your SECOND cart down the line (to sync and have 8 channels) will start a period of "lossed time" after which you realize "oh shit...I've been LSDJing for 2 weeks straight!?"

Don't mind mizu, he's been around for about a week...

To answer your question: pretty much what everyone else said smile

You can also get a gameboy emulator in the downtime. Plus the experience will make you appreciate even more LSDJ out of gameboy (it's much much better)

Also, search the forums for my weekly challenge and biweekly competitions (I use the term competition very lighty)

It may be tough to get inspiration when first starting to write, but I Garuntee you'll get some from the biweekly and the weekly challenge will definitely help the learning process. Plus the regulars are light hearted, fun and know their stuff. Check them out!

If you're patient enough, wait for this bad boy. Might take a couple of months until it hits the shelves, however...

Don't think so, but keep in mind that abrasive is a busy guy. He's doing heaps of "real" work ATM. I'd also say that the reason your heart has been broken is one person in particular. Abrasive's initials aren't J. T...

.~*~WAIT!~*~.

Don't buy an EMS if you're running os x and don't have a windows virtual or anything. The mac version of the gameboy cart flasher program doesn't work right with EMS carts so you won't be able to flash new versions of whatever program you're using or load up alternate .sav files

There's still the bleep bloops but they're stupid expensive and drama. I'm waiting until the aussie cart to get another one personally.

this doesn't work right? http://lacklustre.net/redmine/projects/ems-flash/wiki

the two flashing softwares for this stuff, the EMS-based and Ziegler-based, aren't really compatible.  i think one will do the RAM of the other, but i forget which it is...

i'm not aware of the linked-to software not working though on OS X...  i mean, working for its features atm...

Aha, the only os x cart flasher I knew about was the one just called gbcflsh or something which works for bleep bloops and smart cards I think, but can only read files from the EMS cart,

I guess I don't know what I'm talking about.
