Alright guys here's the deal. I work at Spencer's, some of you may not know what that is, but it's basically a cool store that sales a bunch of band shirts and random novelty items. Similar to HotTopic, FYE minus the CDs and DvDs, and Suncoast from back in the day. We have a radio station that plays all sorts of music over our PA system in the store. We usually have to be tuned into that station, but recently my Assistant manager and I decided to hook up our own music devices and play our own music over the stores sound system. I played a few of my groups chiptunes last night and got a lot of amazing feedback from people asking who it was and stuff. So I'm thinking I should play more chiptunes in the store. I'm shooting for doing a chiptune hour everyday I'm at work. So if any of you guys want your music played in a public place where a shit ton of people come in everyday let me know and send me some directly links to your music. Also if you do decide to let me play your music and want to get the word out about who you are and a way to get people to check out your stuff directly you can make some business cards or some fliers or something with your SouundCloud info Bandcamp info FaceBook page info or anything else you can think of that you would want to put on it so I can hand them to people when they ask about the music playing. Yesterday was a Sunday and I only played 3 songs back to back and had at least 10 people ask me about the music and the store was slow at that time.

Again if you agree to me playing you music just say YES and post some links below. And if you want to send me fliers contact me and I will send you my address so you can mail some to me.

My overall goal is to spark an interest with the locals around here and talk to my District Manager about actually getting a chiptune hour on the Official Spencer's Radio, which would consist of the DJ saying your groups name followed by the song title and then the song played. They already do Dubstep, Techno, and Dance/trance segments. I'd love to add chiptunes to the mix and by the reactions of the public they want it too.

Let me know and thanks guys,

Vex

This is a brilliant idea.

I don't have anything to contribute just yet, sure there's some people here that do though.

Good to hear you're getting some positive feedback with your band stuff.

I recommend only playing Focal Point and Semi-Picturesque. I'll also be having another EP releasing in about a month.

(hot topic's radio is set by district corporate office totally...  its cool you all have in-store control for other devices.  my GF used to manage a hot topic, she's mentioned a couple times how long it took corporate to get stuff they requested added to the list.  forever unless it was on mtv or about to be.  or chiodos)

this is a good idea though.  the risk you run is that you'll grow to despise the songs if you have to hear them repeatedly during your work hours tongue
