Man, awesome!

My stuff is at chippanze.org. I dunno about the other guys, but I'm almost sure they wouldn't mind.

Sweet, yea I'm sure no one will mind but just in case I'm only going to play music from people that say its okay incase i play someones music that does care and finds out some how and tries to sue me or Spencer's. I could lose my job not to mention everything I own, because Spencer's could turn around and sue me for getting them sued lol. I'm actually risking a bit to do this but for the sake of the art I say it's worth it, but I am going to cover my ass on as much as possible.

you really don't have a lot to worry about, we're mostly all pretty cool guys i think!

iirc stores here in australia just buy a license from a performing rights organization (namely APRA) to play all commercial music in their stores instead of making a list and checking it twice and finding out who's gonna holla holla get dolla. and since nobody's required to make a list of what's played in stores, the money from said licenses is just doled out between the most popular songwriters at the time and not anyone who was played, specifically. does anyone know if ASCAP does things differently, or if i've misunderstood the way APRA goes about this?

What I mean by risking a lot. Is we actually are suppose to be tuned into our corporate radio station. I'm actually unhooking it and playing this stuff. My assistant manager is cool with it. However if my manager finds out we could get in big trouble. We are going to do it for awhile and then in time ask my store manager about it and by what he says talk to our district manager. Hell I might even just jump all of them and go straight to the top to corporate office. We actually have a thing with Spencer's that if you are in a band or are a musician and work for Spencer's you can send your music to corporate and ask them to play it on the stores radio which broadcasts to all stores world wide. Basically I got the idea of doing that with my band and though he'll why not do it for all of us. Yea you guys aren't employees of Spencer's but if I show them that so many people in our community are willing to have our music played for free they will do it. Even more so after they see how the customers are reacting to it.

Also what's cool about chiptunes and yes thats the basic genre name but we can do anything with it. Rock, metal, techno, dance, trance.. Etc. So many sounds can come from us so playing an hour of it straight would be reasonable in my opinion hell I'd be happy if they give us 30minutes. Anything is something.

Eh my assistant manager is allowing me too. I'm not 100% sure that we are breaking any store policies but he's pretty familiar with it and he's letting me. So we will see how it goes. We will probably just get a slap on our hand from the store manager. But as I said I plan on going over their heads to corporate at some point.

Yeah, I would second peter here. Being supportive of chip is AWESOME, but in the current climate, I wouldn't risk yours job over this man!

Well, yeah, good advice about not getting fired.
But, like, if you're gonna play other chip music, play this too.
