Are you open to other usb-capable flash cart options besides the two mentioned?

I'm okay with the other options out there, but personally I'm just looking for a BB or Smart Cart at the moment. smile

Somewhat of a long shot, but does anyone have a Bleep Bloop (preferably V2) or Smartboy cartridge for sale?

With an EMS cartridge, iirc on Windows 8 or Windows 10, you can allow unsigned drivers to be installed opposed to running Windows 7 in "Test Mode" to transfer stuff in and out the cartridge so the GB_USB should work without an issue.

Drag'n'Derp also works very well if you don't want to mess with drivers.

The BennVenn linker is really cool for transferring GB Camera photos (and other saves) on the fly if you don't have that Mega Memory cartridge. Though with the BennVenn cartridge, I tend to have a difficult time loading up LSDj; sometimes the rom itself goes haywire when I'm switching between screens (i.e. song slows down, stops playing, glitchy noises). So I gave up, loaded up Beatmania GB, left it as is and decided to stick with my Bleep Bloop and EMS cartridges for making stuff on LSDj.

I remember impulse purchasing a BB and EMS cartridge along with two DMGs about seven~ years ago. At the time I had no clue how to use LSDj and I thought it was way too difficult. So I stored everything within a drawer, went about the years doing other things, and I recently picked up my units and decided to give it a go.Throughout the years I was contemplating on selling my units and cartridges, but I had a feeling I was going to come back. Now I'm just writing up songs and arrangements whenever time permits.

You could set some goals/challenges for yourself and do things such as, composing a song within ten minutes, or try to emulate a certain sound that catches your interest and experiment with different tables.

Echoing what everyone else is saying, just take a break, but don't sell your gear because it'll be quite difficult to get your stuff back if you change your mind. However, if you can't get back into it after taking the time to breathe, then you could go about that decision.

Notable shows: I/O and pulsewave.

I dont know about meetups and stuff, because I am not from NYC, but there are truly TONS of artists in New York.

I think I/O sounds familiar because a friend of mine held a release party of his app called "Chip Beat Blaster" in the past; I'll be sure to check that out along with pulsewave. smile

I think he is trolling. Right? RIGHT?!?

As mentioned in my previous post, I'm pretty much stuck along the surface; I haven't personally met or seen any other artists and/or casual LSDj users within the general area.

Seriously? Yeah, I'd say you haven't looked hard enough. Nyc has bit shifter, nullsleep, glomag, minusbaby, bubblyfish, exilefaker, l-tron, ricky brugal, etc etc.... dozens of chip musicians in nyc

The only artists that I'm aware of within the area are Knife City and Zen Albatross; however, I didn't even know nullsleep, shifter, and I-tron were within the area, TIL. smile

Anyways, are there any notable shows, groups, or meetups I should be aware of? Would be a pleasure to meetup with folks and jam out haha.

I want to join you guys up there, there or philly I would be in heaven!

Maybe I haven't really dug deep enough (I'm still along the surface), but I can't really find anyone else (beside my close friends) who messes chip within the NYC area.

I've rolled up with my Roland Street Cube to various places such as, public parks, local conventions (i.e. NYCC), but no cigar.

NYC seems to be okay.

If anyone is encountering the pesky error where TiPL cannot detect your TI-84+ via. Direct Link (mini A USB to USB), you can load up LibUSB-Win32, search for your calculator (and ensure it's turned on and plugged in), install, then load up TiPL again and you should be able to transfer Doors and HT2 without an issue. smile

I just stumbled on this after reading that thread from 2011. This program is really cool; it'll just save me some time oppose to just punching everything in manually hahaha.

Howdy! The game is number 6 of a project I'm doing to make 8 small GB games. It's meant more like a simple music toy than a sequencing program, which is why it doesn't include saving (also I only just learned how to implement saving recently, which I'm using for http://patchworkgames.itch.io/happyhedgehog, my entry for PetJam on Itch.io).

If there's interest, I would totally be up for expanding it into a more powerful sequencer after the rest of the project is completed!

Thanks for playing!

Really awesome stuff, spend about a good hour or two messing around with it.

It's fun! Hopefully you'll expand on this smile

I have a roland cube street. I'm pretty happy with it.

+1 on the Roland Cube Street, it's very solid and worth the cost tbh. The extra features like the effectors and PA system is nice if you're using it for other stuff than geimuboyu musicu.
