big_smile Thanks guys.

Edit: Commissions closed.

From the looks of this thread you're already ankle deep (or deeper) in bad rep. I'd advise to display more appropriate conflict resolution skills than "You're full of shit". Basic PR, man.

Cease and desist letter.

I agree with everything Kitsch said. I can see where you're coming from with the "it's not that big of a deal" outlook but you should always exercise common courtesy with things like that. Sure its likely you'll get away with it unscathed but you're still technically infringing. As a small business operator, it would be wise of you to always take the high road and play it safe to avoid potential issues and build a good reputation because what you're doing is unfortunately frowned upon.

Seems like you've got a good thing going, don't spoil it by fudging the rules here and there.

Not cool. Should definitely get permission before doing this, otherwise you're just asking for a C&D.

Sorry Deck, didn't mean to deviate the thread into Datapop drama.

My portfolio doesn't have enough pixel/chip scene friendly art. You may have seen my illustrations with ASM Electronics. I would like to offer up my services to anyone in need of quality graphics and animations. I would prefer paid jobs but will definitely consider fun mutual benefit pro-bono gigs.

Also looking to collaborate with others. My strong suits are traditional drawing, vector graphics and 3D modeling but I can do a little of everything.

Right there with ya. One of the last days I worked there they had some Lady Gaga special night which was the most horrendous and atrocious 8 hours of my life. I wanted to gouge my eyes out with a rusty fork. And that's somehow not as bad as Datapop?
I don't know. They were pretty clear that Datapop itself was particularly annoying because of the music, underage issues and drugs. Never witnessed any of this myself but just passing what I heard. I had a blast at the last Datapop I went to so I have no clue what they be trippin about.

That's good then. Now I'm just wondering what the fuck my manager was talking about then. Maybe there'll be another venue or something. One thing was apparent from my time at The Highball; every staff member there loathes Datapop, which makes any future chip event at the Highball pretty jaded. I was almost embarrassed to admit I like chip music hmm

Yeah, at least it was shaping up to be like Blip.

I used to work at the Highball and I heard from one of the managers there that Datapop is cancelled indefinitely and I ranted about it on 8bc but Bit Shifter replied and said his roommate organizes Datapop and hadn't heard anything about Datapop being cancelled so I have no idea.

Last I heard theres no Datapop in sight, which I hope changes soon.

Ive worked SXSW the last two years and I haven't heard of any chip events, which I also hope changes. Seems like all chip activity occurs outside of Austin for some weird reason.
