"skate or die: bad & rad" gameboy

http://youtu.be/GwxWmJIkonA

you can literally rip it out of the game - i have done this  before with a different game - hopefully someone will chime in and let u know how to do it... because its been 4 years since the last time i did it - i just remember it required using a debugger in an emulator

Oh dude, I would love both of those. Wasnt logear all on a Yamaha FB01?

lo-gear is all adlib (opl2) and blast in 1991 was dx21... and the added parts are all fb01

thx for listening!

i think that none of you are realizing what defines "x-bit"... if so called "8-bit" music is generated on a device w/ an 8-bit processor... then 1-bit music would require a device with a 1-bit processor - and the gameboy doesnt have one

I can honestly say that I now know the troof. Money well spent.

I dunno if the ending I got was good or bad yikes

good ending requires no continues

did anyone check out potatoman yet?

i have been playing it a LOT - i beat it 3 times... got the good ending twice

the soundtrack is by Miles Tilmann & Mark DeNardo... and the trailer video was scored by Alex Mauer (me).

definitely worth checking out! all bias aside... the game is awesome regardless of my involvement

hey... looking to borrow a power pak.. preferrably from someone local (philly) but anywhere will do - eirik (phlogiston) and i are working on a new project... a re-release of vegavox and color caves for people who do not own the carts (these were never available as sound files) with 6 bonus songs (this is actually the reason i need the power pak) - it will be a pay-download album... whoever lends me their power pak will definitely get a free copy... and i will pay for shipping it back and forth (if not local)

i consider it a VGM related instrument - absolutely - i used to have one... they're awesome - in the same league as the Yamaha FB01 unit - you could technically modify your MT32 to have a non-volatile RAM chip so that turning it off would not erase your patches - altho i have never attempted this trick

so... is it chiptune? not really... but that doesnt mean you wont get street cred for using real VGM hardware

Contrary to what it says on 8static.com... I will NOT be appearing on Nov 12th 2011.

I will be playing in the future... but right now I am pre-occupied by my 40hr a week day job, and my side-work (soundtracks).  I don't have enough time to practice my live stuff.  I refuse to put on a sub-par performance... so I will be delaying my appearance until my work load lightens up.  Sorry to all who were looking forward to this.

OK guys... bad news: I am actually not able to make it to 8static in Nov 2011.  I will be playing in the future... but right now I am pre-occupied by my 40hr a week day job, and my side-work (soundtracks).  I don't have enough time to practice my live stuff.  I refuse to put on a sub-par performance... so I will be delaying my appearance until my work load lightens up.  Sorry to all who were looking forward to this.

hmm pretty late on this discussion... but to anyone who cares:

Vegavox 1 (cartridge) *sold out* 170 copies
Color Caves (cartridge) *sold out* 100 copies
Vegavox 2 (cartridge) *sold out* 50 copies
9999 (CD) sold 274 physical copies and still going
9999 (download on penny arcade website) sold 117 copies and still going

that took years... it takes a long time to sell this many of anything niche

dont do it man
