anyone who wants to hear examples of the FB01 in use check out my blast album on 8bitpeoples, or my blast 2 album which is here: http://headlessbarbie.com/dl/mp3-blast2.zip

whats the difference between OPM (sharp) and OPP (fb01)? - well... OPM has a noise generator which substitutes one of the FM voices... and OPP has midi built in on the chip - other than that they sound the same

one more thing to note... the OPM is contained in the DX100, and DX21 keyboards.. the FB01 is basically the module version of the DX100 and it contains the OPP

*note: OPM = YM2151, OPP = YM2164

thats cool

i think little-scale would agree w/ me that modding it is not necessary... and if you're talking about keeping it pure you should probably not EQ it... if you do decide to EQ i think it should be after recording - not while...  but what do i know - if you're a weird dude who thinks the gameboy should have come w/ a prosound mod already on it in 1989 maybe you disagree w/ me wink

*RARE* NES used during "Angry Videogame Nerd" episode 11 when James Rolfe takes a diarrhea dump on the NES - this is in non-working condition and is listed *AS IS* - paypal only

this is something that drives me insane

i work 40+ hours a week as a lab tech, and i also get soundtrack jobs... yet i still struggle with even being able to buy a new pair of headphones (mine are broken) - i say the trick to be able to afford gear is to not have to pay rent or bills - try to stay at your parents house

i had the FS-A1ST (the other turbo-R)... it cost me 450 dollars... then i resold it for about the same amount - my advice... find a cheaper model

TFM would be great if it did stuff OTHER than just FM. FM drums just suck.

It seems there are trackers that cover most stuff, but not all of it in one package.

TFM is not designed for genesis/MD - its made for the turbo-sound FM modification for ZX spectrum - just to be clear to everyone here... yes you can get your music to play back on genesis but Shiru never intended for it to do anything beyond the limitations of 2 OPN1 chips (the turbo-FM mod) - Shiru said he may make a genesis tracker in the future but theres no evidence this will happen soon - for genesis... How much does a EPROM burning set you back around?

this is my area where i solder and program EPROMs - as you can see... some vegavox2 copies are in the process of being made here - the computer has a HUSKY rom burner sitting on top of it... and this computer is running win98 + dos - also there is a sound blaster 2.0 in this computer so i can play back OPL2 songs on hardware and record to my main computer

rushcoil... i'd say no its not worth it unless you just wanted it for TI's speech synthesis... you can get an add-on for that - the internal sounchip is the same as sega mastersystem and gamegear - in the case that you like this sound i would use MOD2PSG2 or XPMCK

"The SN76489 was originally designed to be used in the TI-99/4 computer, where it was first called the TMS9919 and later SN94624. Later, when it was sold outside of TI, it was renamed the SN76489."

ah... perhaps you are correct... anyhow... it appears XPMCK may at some point support MDX output... if so... then this is probably the easiest way to do it (without learning japanese etc)
