are you in the US?

it will be brighter without the resistor according to HHL in the comments on this page, they say voltage is good up to 6V, but it may be too bright for you. you could always install a 1k trimpot instead of the resistor like i was planning to do, which allows you to adjust the brightness. it also shows not to use the KB configuration like i did. i couldn't speak to whether KB is brighter than HHL or not but most people seem to think they are roughly the same. also if you check out the pictures, there's a pretty clear voltage increase with DC vs battery power.

to answer the other question in your first post, yes the USB 64m smart card does use up more power.

i did the mod using a kitsch-bent frontlight and soldered the red wire at the top of the four points, i did not add a resistor. sorry i don't have a picture but the screen is definitely very bright, so much so that i will probably add a switch so i can turn down the brightness. hopefully it shouldn't be a big deal to quickly re-solder it and test it out.

I wonder if this will work on the Super Game Boy for SNES?

good question - according to the schematic it seems nobody really knows if the Vin pin works as intended

as a preface, i haven't played live, but wouldn't you press start on the slave first? like press start on slave and get "wait", then start playing master, both start playing. at some point before the master finishes then change the slave to master, and load the next song in the first master (if the next song hasn't already been set to slave sync then set it to slave). press start on new slave to get "wait" and when the new master plays the next chain you should now be in sync right? i just tested this and it seems like it should work, although it will probably take some practice

new synth emulating YM2612 by Mathieu Demange - not yet released, first version will be Reason rack extension followed shortly by VST

looks dope as hell and sounds great, cannot wait for the release! hopefully sooner rather than later...

use different sound design techniques. change the shape of waveforms, use vibrato, arpeggios, tables/automation etc. there are a lot of tutorials out there, I don't know what specific software you are using, but you can watch tutorials if you search them on youtube

My opinion is that I think that this track is not very expressive. To improve and stuff like that, try watching some tutorials for the software you are using that show different techniques, then try using those techniques yourself

Ok good luck! Please report back and let us know what you find out. Thanks for all your hard work!

I've been using that for a while on Cygwin because I never got the stupid EMS drivers to work, so I can't tell you what the "official" software does, but it uses the menu designed by MottZilla. He explains a bit more about it in this thread: http://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?t=9456

The Drenn1 version of the ems-flasher does allow you to add/remove a single ROM in a bank, although I haven't peeked at the code so I couldn't tell you that it wasn't just automatically reflashing the entire bank.

https://github.com/Drenn1/ems-flasher

You can grab the menu.gb or menu.gbc rom from here, concatenate the roms you want onto it, then flash it onto the cart. The only drawback is you would have to do this every time you want to change out a game.

oh I'm sure my comment was definitely inspired by your tutorial, I can't recommend it highly enough. I finally feel like I know what I'm doing with the noise channel! smile
