Anyone know where I can find these drum samples from this specific song? I know I probably heard it in a disasterpeace song, the one on hearthcode album (I forgot the name now) and is a really cheesy sound, SNES-esque.

If it was plugged to a mixer who has 2 inputs for stereosound, then you should use a twinheaded cord. Stereo cables - at least in my experience - don't work with mixers if they use only one input. Using mono cords solves my problem but I don't use panning.

As I was surfing the netlabels websites, I saw a lot of them are closing, or even a while (years) without posting anything.

On the other hand I saw some really promissing labels I never heard of - I can't listen to them now cause I'm at work and no sound from computer.

Something that caught my attention was that some labels really invested time on their art. And that caught my attention to the music inside. As an example is this one: http://www.dataairlines.net/category/releases/

I feel stupid of not really surfing that shriker catalog of netlabes.

Also, back to the niches part, a niche can be more than an specific sound style. It could be related to a lifestyle and friends (Cheese'n'beer looks like that to me), a specific region (latin america and spain has 3 - Chippanze, the Brazilian one; 56kbps, the LA chicos; and now Lowtoy, the Spanish boys) or even it could be related to an specific hardware or software (HEXAWE!).

Also, changing subjects, why nobody ever talked about this netlabel: http://www.petitejolie.com/ ?
Is their releases any good?

i've been rereading this thread like mad too. i want to get more of a scene going down here in edmonton. feel embarrassed that toronto is considered "it" when talking about canadatunez.

5. most areas can't support a 100% chip show, so don't book a 100% chip show.

what do you mean by that exactly?

For what I understood, it's to book some artists that do not play chip influenced music. Punk, goth, electronic, whatever. Mixing it up is always nicer cause more people will have the chance to know your music.

As I talked to andré, might seem a phase issue, combined with distortion, feedback, downsampling and specially with cutoff/resonance. That happens with extreme manipulation of the parameters. It mix with the other sounds and kills your sound.
