2 good 2 be true

1. experiment with more volume envelopes (particularly on the bass). it can get boring when there is no pulse in the volume.

2. to much SLIDE at parts for my personal taste.

3. i think the melody would be really nice with a direct harmony at parts.

4. maybe needs some different sections.

keep at it, was good for a first

maybe use a vocoder or autotune if you'd like it to be melodic.

perhaps provide an example

can i ask what the essay is about? the choice of questions was interesting

I think it doesn't and people should read the stickies.

- edit - I could edit that sticky and make it even more hand holdy and expand it a bit to cover a few more common questions.

yeah you're right people should. however it seems they do not.

in order to get them to do this you need to get them to the stickies. maybe there should be a link to a "new to chipmusic" section upon registering. it could be within the e-mail confirmation process.

maybe n--b threads aren't such a bad thing though. i dunno.

I'm-new-threads wouldn't be such a bother if some people would just get the sticks removed from their asses, dropping a link takes like 10 seconds. Waving around cm.org flags on 8bc and then stomping on new people is bigot shit.

Yes, there's a search function. Yes, I prefer people to use it instead of making new threads. Doesn't mean I need to devolve into a troglodyte when someone doesn't.

Also, I loathe that fucking 4chan mentality of ganging up on someone a lot more than a missed search.

just 4 clarity, i was thinking in the mentality that a new section might help people out. if i have spare time i will often post in newbie threads with kwl inf0.

do agree to an extent though.

i think a sub forum for this is a great idea actually.

i think having it somewhere on the front page is a better idea

the "new to 8-bit" section on 8bc was often overlooked

is it? it's extremely roughed up. i just checked and the screen is fine. i also just discovered that the speaker on the calico one works fine. i got it mixed up with a clearboy i had a while ago. ';3

they are both still currently for sale. wanting to sell both for £20. as in the yellowboy and the calicoboy together for £20.

please e-mail me when you have come to a conclusion. smile

uhhhhhhhhhh.

here is a list of TRACKERS for windows. http://woolyss.com/chipmusic-chiptrackers.php?s=Windows

i can't teach you how to use zem but if you explore the specific sites for whatever tracker i'm sure you will find guides and manuals.

i personally recommend famitracker for simplicity. it emulates NES sound.

Not sure if I can hold - really just trying to get rid of them as fast as possible. I already have a screen cover for it. It will be included if you decide to buy.

LOL calico. here is a picture of the back of it. http://imgur.com/eHOvt

The only part that is orange is the battery cover. This was my first gameboy, I really have no idea why it has this colour.
