exactly what in the first post looked like whining to you? most of you guys are literally incapable of comprehension at this point, to say nothing of logical leaps.

Ok, pick your own word but the general vibe I get from you is you think most chip music is at best disappointing. Which is fair enough but posting in a chipmusic forum saying most chip derived music this year was devoid of feeling and you want us to join you in not releasing music for a year, seems either deliberate trolling or a bit petty.  So rather than feeling bad about how most chipmusic doesn't make you happy, here are a few ideas for some constructive things you could do.

1 - There is a constructive criticism forum, why not pic 5 or 10 songs a week, break them down, give the musicans some ideas how they could improve the songs?

2 - Pick a couple of artists who are new to the scene but lacking in a bit of music theory background, offer to give them free lessons and share your knowledge?

3 - Contribute to the tutorials and how tos forum with some higher level techniques for famitracker or music theory?

4 - Share all your famitracker project files so other people can learn from them?

5 - Make some youtube tutorial videos for some chipmusic software you are good at and break down how you compose?

I assume you will have a bunch of a free time if you aren't composing for a year. Any of those ideas will help people get better, why not give them a try?

I think this is all because you dont have the willpower not to release an album of K pop covers called "Zan-Zan style"

I question your use of the continuous tense.

How about we skip a year whining about chipmusic instead?

moved thread, clarified title.

Forgive me for asking the obvious question but why not just control the DMG from the PC? It seems like a far less painful solution.

A Hardsid quattro ISA (note ISA) went for 160 odd canadian on ebay in october.

Can we have an immediate end to sexist stupidness and get this thread back on topic please?

I was totally thinking about including that but it seems to difficult to pin down, especially bearing in mind most of the handhelds are second hand and the PSP has different types of battery. That being said, I would rate them very roughly in terms of longest to shortest

Dingoo - Really long (8 hours plus?)
Caanoo - 3 or 4 hours
PSP - 2 or 3 hours
GP2x - 1 or 2 hours

Would you agree with that? can anyone confirm?

Cheers marc! Most of that information was dug out out of the huge piggy thread from a post bleo made which I followed up on. Anyone has anything to add to the pros and cons of any particular handheld, let me know!

Toriena, chibitech, orloc (previously Coova) and about 6 or 7 ds10 artists over herej

I was going to add another question to the FAQ but I am sure I have missed some details or could explain points better. Feel free to chime in!

Actually just a random thought. Would anyone mind me locking this thread? I think now we have a dedicated forum, something like the PSP discussion would make a great stand alone thread which might be useful for future piggers?
