Well more specifically, it may be the power supply overheating because of the additional draw due to the backlight, and/or the aging electrolytic capacitors.

Don't forget the ASM shells - green (first prototype MCB5), clear (second), purple (fightercart) and red (xmas cart).

I already replaced all the caps in all my gameboys and noticed an immediate difference. The audio levels across my gameboys now match and I feel like the screens look a bit better but I have no hard evidence.

Never got around to doing a gamegear replacement though. A quick cost/benefit comparing the quantity of SMD caps vs. the audio channels of the GG made me sell all the ones I had. tongue

The other thing you can do is use the first digit of the Hxx command which sets a number of repeats back to the line of the second digit... so for example HF0 on line 1 would repeat the first step F times, then put a higher V value on line 2 then HF2 on line 3...

It doesn't allow for a particularly fine resolution in your vibrato sweep since every other step is taken up by H commands, but in most cases I find that the difference is negligible if noticeable at all.

I haven't played Marathon in about 9 years. Started playing in '95-'96... People bitch about lag now; but they never lived through dial-up patches and dedicated (but busy) LAN servers in an office building.

YES - this was my world too. What was that LAN over modem software called? I did that for 2-player Marathon 1 too many times. It was terrible, but the only way to scratch the itch at the time.

I recommend checkingout Aleph One and the community it has now - there's a lot of great content from the intervening years.

The greater PSP family would be a great choice I think, EVERYBODY has one.

And I'm with Jazz, I would flip for an SNES version as well.

It also used to be my handle on Marathon.

Dude wait, have we bumped into each other before? I've been kineticturtle/Kinetic Turtle for a long-ass-time in the marathon/aleph one world. Just got started playing again too...

You should be able to just cut them. If you have nice, angled cutters, you should cut them as close as you can to the board (close to flush if possible). If not, cut them longer and cap the wires off with heat-shrink or electrical tape.

a "star" or "flag" function that prevents deletion, and then a "delete all" would be really great!

Even if ASM won't sell shells, he might be into doing the repro itself.

Cool beans!

Did you get my PM from the morning you posted this? I could probably come up with other trade options as well.

I dress my band in all white.

Once I stacked up a bunch of guitar and bass cabs and put white fabric over the grill cloth.

It is plausible. Find out how they connected the PSP to the piano and there's your hardware solution.

I've also always hoped for direct PSP piggy->LSDJ sync, with some kind of simple pulse sent through a USB->DMG link adapter that LSDJ can read. They both run at 5V, right?

In short - THIS IS VERY EXCITING and I wish I could code worth a shit
