Why, it's the Sega font, of course.

Not really, but it's close. I think the LSDj font might be original.

Outside is better. If I were to guess, the xmetals must be a solvent paint and isn't meant for plastic, which causes a "dry" look to the finish. I don't mean a satin finish by that either. This can be remedied with a gloss coat, which doesn't really work if you're spraying the inside.
These look pretty good. How are you removing the text? Acetone?
Are the USB carts called "smart carts?" I thought that was the name of the non usb ones.
If it's USB, just pop the battery out. I'm pretty sure they're all socketed.
Those carts seem to be prone to corrupted sram. Removing the cart while it's in the transferer might cause this, but they can also corrupt just randomly.
Try to clear the sram. This can also be done by desoldering the battery and leave it removed for about 30 seconds.
Thanks for the tip nitro, I'll add that to the post.
Added half of a DMG wiring guide.
This whole tutorial needs to be fixed up, but as my current projects wrap up I'll have more time to update this.
From top to bottom:
Ground, 5v, Data, Clock. As indicated on the board. The rest of the information can be found here: http://littlesounddj.wikia.com/wiki/PC_ _Interface

You can cut the bottom crystal trace. Check the tutorial, they should say where to cut it if it doesn't tell you to remove the crystal all together. If you don't cut the trace, you're going to have two crystals connected in parallel.
.
Is the stock crystal removed? It doesn't look like you cut the trace.

except, bleepbloops are nicely colored
What?
I've decided I'm going to go with the black case instead. Or if there's sufficient interest, I could even have a custom case made specifically for this.
For all of those interested in purchasing one, please send me a PM and I'll compile a list.
