Heh. What's wrong? Here is my list:
1. Everything.
End of list.
This is what I was expecting, haha. I leave for two years, come back and the place is a ghost town. All that's left are tons of "MY FIRST--" tracks and people asking what DMGs are.

I'm seeing shouts in the wrong direction (cow'p, quarta330, ???, minikomi...)
huge difference between dub and dubstep.
I'll shoot someone if someone says king tubby is comparable to rusko.other than that, you definitely have to dig for some good dubstep. The only one I'd recommend is Phaeleh;

I think it's pretty safe to say nothing I've been introduced to and told it was dubstep has sounded like that. That's not even close to the garbage I've heard. Maybe it's good because you can't womp to it.

@Rolf
Thanks for all that information. I don't know which part I'm more excited about. But it looks like I left 8bc right about when that was posted, no wonder I never knew.
@Kitsch
I had a feeling it was the AAAs. I use a Nanoloop cart with my Pocket, albeit not for an extended period of time. Also, thanks again. Chances are I'll be picking up one of the last EMS carts from you. :]

Another successful EMS+SP user.
Also, failing game boy screens are semi-reversible. I have yet to have a screen that has survived this long get any worse, but as of right now there's no real shortage of parts.
A bad screen is great for a gameboy you plan to use with mGB though. Don't need it nearly as much.
Really? I've never heard of those being reversible. As far as being replaceable, it wouldn't matter. I don't have a soldering iron OR the skills to pull off the job, unfortunately.
Also, I don't mean to sound stupid, but what is mGB? The more of this stuff I learn about, the better.

Truthfully, I'm not worried about what I could possibly do to it. I'm more worried about the internal parts failing, especially the screen. Those missing pixels are irreversible and borderline heartbreaking.
I had a DMG that had a speaker that just stopped functioning after years of use. Never dropped it and out of the blue--poof!

SKGB wrote:be brutally honest
I hate to write off entire genres, but dubstep does nothing for me based on what I've heard (of both the chip and non-chip variety). Sorry dubstep fans. It's as if it is stitched together by the lesser enjoyable aspects of other genres. Worst of all worlds. I'll check out some things posted in this thread, however. People can feel free to post recommendations, I'll give them a chance...
It's possible I have somewhat the wrong impression, because I see SKGB mentioning Bit Shifter. I like his music and live performances!
Also, I cannot conceive how 'bro step' isn't a derogatory or mocking term. Perhaps I'm an asshole, but that sounds really bad to me, like something you'd say if you were making fun of it.
I'm in the same boat as you. While I'm not someone that'll throw a friend's CD out of a moving car window, I can safely say I'm just not into it.
Although I've definitely heard a few chiptune attempts at it that were pretty decent, especially the ones listed in this thread.
It's funny you should say bro step, though. My friends and I almost always use bro as a slur. I'm not about to bash dubstep, but I can safely say I'm tired of it. At least its new found popularity, anyway. It's cool when anyone is passionate about the music they like and that's a fantastic thing. But when every single Monster energy guzzling, festival attending, light beer drinker is inundating my brain and parties and FB wall with it--shit's gotta change.

Topic: Bleepbloop support BESIDES DMG? (9 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
Just trying to find the best cart I can for LSDJ so far. I know the EMS carts have a hard time operating on Pockets (and I'm not sure how it performs on SPs or colors--my other GBs) but does the Bleepbloop?
I get iffy about using DMGs since they're all getting pretty old. I try to use them only when recording.
Thanks for your help guys.

Yeah, that's completely understandable. I did just that.
Again, thanks for the help guys. Reminds me of when I was on 8bc like three years ago.

Re: Help with a EMS USB cart, please... (32 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
The problem isn't old caps in the DMGs making the EMS carts freak out- AFAIK it's in the cart itself.
So there's a chance I could get an EMS cart that wouldn't be affected by this issue? As far as being designed in a dishonest fashion, is there any website I can check out the details on? Or maybe I could get a PM from someone in the know?

Really great information, guys. I'd be hard pressed to find this type of information on 8bc nowadays.
But I have one simple related question I'd like to ask without intentionally trying to steer this thread off-topic.
Like most of you, I write using a number of DMGs, all of which are probably closing in on a few too many years. I find it a little unsettling that this is a problem with the EMS carts, as I don't have the highest budget in the world for music, these just seem like the logical decision, money wise.
Do the Bleepbloop carts feature the same problem with the DMGs old caps? If they don't, I might have to save my money when I move over to LSDJ in a few weeks. Thanks, again, sorry for the hijack.
