ive been wanting to do something vaguely like this for a while, so im totally in

the fact that you are working so hard on NES stuff that you actually have a need for an intern warms the cockles of my cold dead heart

that moment when youre onstage at a pretty big show and in the middle of the climax of your best song and the crowd is digging it hard and youre getting all stage-presence-y and then accidentally step on your cheesy 1/8" cable, pulling it out and then everyone goes AWWWWW and you can still hear the tiny, tinny sound of song playing out of your shitty onboard gameboy speaker.

ehhh, i think usually you have to have software routing that creates some sort of virtual "audio in" to audacity. some comps have that built in, but if not a simple google search should find you a few freeware options to DL.

@ shitbird: yeah, not a problem man! that would be easy, ill pm you

@ saskrotch: not software "problems" really, but the EMS64s dont work with the smartboy transferrer / software (and why would they, they have their own USB and associated software). Not a problem for most, but I do a lot of swapping lsdng files between the 5 carts i already have and dont want to have to switch out usb cables and different software just for this new cart. so yeah, basically laziness.

@inactivex: hah, i was totally going to go for your offer, but shitbird is SOOOOOO much closer wink

cm.org has always seemed to me to be more about the forums than the music, and i think that with 8bc down to 2megs per track and like 50% up-time, there is definitely a sort of chiptune community vacuum that needs to be filled: a song-focused site that nurtures those looking to develop their technique and get feedback on their compositions. this site seems to be focused on exactly that, so, hey, awesome. they even have their own "new old school peeps" so that nitro doesnt have to answer every n00b question.

Now all it needs is misfitchris to drunkenly troll the boards, and it'll be well on its way to being an official chiptune forum

I've got an ems 64 usb cart that i dont use becase of software issues (aka im lazy). Id like to trade it for any nice condition FUNCTIONING bleepbloop, smartboy or even old ems cart if it has new batteries.

Any takers?

OH HEY! I tried my hand at soundtracking a bleepy bloopy indie pixel game. The idea was to stay in that 90s adventure game music style, and I challenged myself further by keeping the whole soundtrack to one single lsdj sav file. Thoughts on how it came out?
