I've been trying to decipher the logistics of the wavetable manipulation for a long time now. Just when I thought I had a cohesive formula, Chipocrite shut me down and left me there on the curb, rueing the day that I ever discovered LSDJ.

My stuff has been on the russian sites since like 2007. This is nothing new, they use MP3 sniffing bots, aggregate anything that has coherent tags, and sell it.
but unless the rochester chip comp is being hosted somewhere else (and legalsounds stole it from THAT), it got directly uploaded to the site!

One time I met a girl at a party and was looking at her Ipod.
"Oh you have Armcannon on there!"
her - "yeah I just bought it off some russian site for a dollar just yesterday"
"I'm in that band"
Let's just say I had the upper hand, got her number, and was going out with her a week later. So uh, russian sites can't be that bad, they get me laid"
was the quotation mark at the end of this post accidental or do you mean "laid"
then again, what is "laid" in comparison to just...laid
most importantly, how do I achieve this with the lady folk

i was just showing this to a few people the other day. they have albums on there that were never even "released" and only exist as cd-r's that i've sold at shows. i think this means someone (most likely someone who bought one at magfest) is specifically uploading these cd's to this site.
this is now a classic whodunnit

Try gameboy colors if you're working with material that makes the DMG and pocket stutter.

Re: Hello (1 replies, posted in General Discussion)
Hi!
I actually work as part of a collective that composes and licenses out music for games. Mostly flash games though we've worked with iOS, Android, and XBOX Indie games as well. I take care of any project that is looking for a chip music sound in their games. Check us out at http://www.DVGmusic.com and drop us a line if you're interested! Most of the audio on that site isn't chip music but there is a section showcasing some (really old) chip music we've had clients use before. Or you can e-mail me directly with any questions at:
an0vachiptune (at) gmail (dot) com
Some additional examples:
This is a complete original soundtrack I composed in 2010 for "Curse of the Crescent Isle," on XBOX Live Indie Games. I wanted it to feel like directly out of an original NES game-music that wouldn't get in the way of the sound effects (like how I feel a lot of chip music does in many games today, unfortunately), yet still builds over time. If you take a listen to the Title Theme, all three Town Themes and the Ending Theme, you'll see a motif developing across the entire game that I really think helped build cohesion: http://dvgmusic.bandcamp.com/album/curs soundtrack
