I fixed the theme description. I didn't realize it would show as a single line rather than a 4x4 matrix like i was expecting.

Both 4x4 matrix I created are on the Song screen. Each chain will have 4 phrases (these keep the same positions even after the swap at the end) in each so the song is made of 16 phrases is each channel. Write the song while keeping in mind the final positions of the phrases. It's almost like grabbing 16 blank puzzle pieces, knowing their final position after they are assembled and painting them in a way that once they are arranged, they form a picture. The whole purpose it to prevent you from hearing what multiple channels sound like together. I suggest starting with the final position of row 1 and work on those individual phrases separately. Then move onto row 2 of the final positions and repeat. It will help the writer to be able to create channels that sound good together without actually hearing them played simultaneously until they are finished.
Hope that help. This one is definitely a bit confusing, but actually is pretty straight forward and easy once you get the process down.

EP of these songs would be fantastic...We can take the top 1 or 2 in each comp or something and throw it in a release (just to cut down the amount of songs as well as encourage people to visit the comp in the future). Get some artwork in there as well since (especially for this Comp#6...holy shit...) the themes would go so well with artwork. Plus it's a way to get artists involved if they're interested in throwing a little something together as a donation and/or provide more theme inspiration. I'm all about this little group we've started (thanks to Arlen) to grow larger and bring in those who are proficient in music/art as well as excited beginners pumped about their new hobby (...me)
PS: I'm so pumped that the difference between the artists entering these is SO distinct. They range from precise and calculated, to spaztic and dangerous...and from pretty to gritty. Your Konami style, 2Player, brings a grin to my face everytime...shit's great. The way Kommisar fills out songs with a long and varying melodyline is amazing. Jredd single handedly got me interested in beepola. Everyone else sounds great as well and I'm excited to see more from you Frostbyte since while this comp's entry was...weird...I'm very interested hear more following its style with more structure.

Glad you guys are pumped. Makes me feel warm a fuzzy inside. As for collabing, we can definitely in the future. I'll get at you.

Others can vote so we'll see how that works out. And thanks for entering guys. Love hearing what others do with the weird strategies I like to use. I'm sure this comp will pick up steam. I ended up going out for a youngin's 21st birthday so I really didn't have time to enter this. The next one though....

So many good songs. For realz.
And god...dammit I'm In the Lead/Oh Crap...I was waiting for some ridiculous 20 seconds...
PS: Half speed DMG crystal and 2 pro sound mods have arrived...just need to order a second cart and your wish for more low end will be granted. Thanks for the kind words, fellas!
Keep this shit up!

I'm going to keep it weekly to let the ideas fly through. Plus it's less of a competition than this one and more of a way to get the weird strategies out to those who are up for a challenge and to see what others come up with.

Mine will be up there in the next couple days. Great turnout. I'm lovin' it.
Thank you, jredd. You stated exactly what I would have. If you recall, Arlen I was one of the people who fully encouraged this competition from the beginning. Even though I think it is pretty ridiculous for one to get upset over someone else making a DIFFERENT competition using a site based solely on the creation of said competitions, I don't want any bad blood.

Intimidates? It's just a different type of competition. If anything it's much shorter. I didn't make it to replace the bi-weekly or anything like that or try to step on your toes or something.

Haha I hear ya. I'm going to try to keep the themes based more on trying new techniques rather than making a straight banger song. Most if not all future themes will have a 1 minute cap in there.
I'm in the process of writing my biweekly but I'm also using it to apply this challenge's theme. I think it works out pretty well actualy having these two comps going on simultaneously.

You and me both. I only have so many wiimotes, tv remotes, shavers and flashlights to cannibalize haha.
EDIT: Sorry for the typo, I meant "Fleshlights"

Really really good point Nestrogen. Here's what I think:
1) Adding to the rules: "When uploading DO NOT post a comment attached to your entry. This gives away your name."
2) Adding to the rules: "When voting, make sure you feel the tunes getting your thumbs FOLLOW THE THEME. Do not vote for an entry only because you like it best."
3) Keep chat CLOSED until the listening party begins. This prevents members from seeing who was logged in when a song was entered.
Also… my recent entry is definitely guilty of getting votes even though it didn't follow the theme and I apologize. Next time I won't upload whatever just to get more entries.

Thanks for the tips, Nestrogen. I'll add those programs to the list as well as check out that OHC. The sample pack idea sounds interesting. I'll have to do some research as well as get my fucking custom made kits to work…as they've continuously given me migranes everytime I try to create some.
And sounds good, jredd. As long as one can tell the difference between the original track and the channel swap track all's good!
