I'm glad somebody got it.

Yea but the thing is, we aren't nitpicking random words that rarely come up in everyday language. I think its pretty obvious what kinda speech and context this rule is pertaining to, and I feel like that if you are already arguing against it, you aren't in the habit of considering the feelings of others or just trying to be a contrarian to begin with.

I guess my lack of understanding is with anyone who is surprised using the word gay in the pejorative sense is offensive to people. It may be hard to admit you've been doing something wrong for years but is it that hard to stop using now that you know how people see you when you use it?

I'm not saying auto ban people or word filter or anything heavy handed like that, but I feel exerting social pressure to get people to correct their speech and make a statement that this site has zero tolerance for a cavalier use of such language is totally acceptable.

i really like how lsdj midi out handles the whole CHORDS VIA TABLE approach to doing chords in monochannels.

im sure dam funk would want you to GET PAID.

In other words:

Say your best friend was assaulted by a person who kept saying the word TOYBOAT OVER AND OVER again while they committed the assault. And you knew that every time this dear friend heard the word toyboat they felt that assualt again in their mind. It was basically like reliving the assault over again.

Would you still insist on using that word in front of them because you knew it doesnt actually mean anything bad. Or would you try to respect your friend and try to find a different word to express yourself knowing the pain it caused them?

Yea I dont care how many gay black friends you have who've given you permission to use hate speech on this forum.

maybe glue a dryer sheet in the middle too big_smile

The first thing people who use offensive speech do is make it about them. No one cares why you think its OK to say something that could make someone else make them feel bad for being who they are. You are in a community and you have to learn to moderate your discourse in a way that doesn't use words that are being used in all kinds of attacks both physical and mental every day.

I would hate this place to become some kinda of youtube/reddit cesspool where people of different backgrounds are afraid to visit because we allow such casual and damaging behavior. This isn't about being PC, or censorship, its about making the forum fun for people of all backgrounds to visit and discuss chippy messes.

Yea I used to do something like this with the EHX Vocoder. Worked better with a 50/50 square wave pushed super loud. Not a fan of talkboxes cause sticking tubes in your mouth be gross.

Whats more simple that the soundfont support it has? Adding sf to the sample browser is on the todo list. As is wave draw. Text to speech is easy, just drop some sp0-256 samples in there!
