You can already do this, with any pad controller that sends DIN midi (like the akai mpd stuff), an arduinoboy and the LIVEMAP setting:
http://code.google.com/p/arduinoboy/
LIVEMAP Lsdj will use its own clock, but a incoming midi note will cue midi note # to song row # in live mode.

I think a preview thread is useful if its
a) someone i actually care about their upcoming release
b) something that previews a commercial release and allows for preorders or presales.
c) is renamed to the release thread once it actually comes out. NO DOUBLE POSTS.

Re: snesei: How do you guys come up with melodies and bass lines? (20 replies, posted in General Discussion)
When I have a blank tracker.. its all zeros, and is an uncarved stone. I start chiseling away and the song appears. Once the stone tells me what it wants to sound like I use my experience with previous songs to add what i think will make the stone be what it wants to be. Occasionally I have trouble with the song wanting to be something im not smart enough to do, or it sounds like music I dont want to make, but lately ive been forcing myself to at least finish it to the best of my abilities even if it sucks. Ive found that if you have really good taste in music, youll know if your song is good or not.

Normally you'd power the aboy from the link port, if not link cable is attached, how are you powering it?

I ran into this problem last weekend, and it was caused by swapping the midi in/out cables.. whoops!
Didnt find any help when researching the issue myself, hope it helps someone else looking for trouble.

Ive had luck with that technique too. If this troll thread can help just one person then it would totally be worth it. Also try a packet of sugar.

prosound or backlight something. probably lsdj it as well. and behringer 802 that. how can I get more bass out of my gameboy? how do I make melodies? what is a drop? why don't people like linkin park here? where do you get your inspiration? what do you feel like when you hear your music? i need more cc. screamcoretrancedubstepelectro which pokemon are you? modern chipmusicians hate pop music but love depeche mode. wow X killed it at pulsewave. i am so stoked. dude this is amazing 4 tracks of lsdj trance that sound just like my release, I feel safe saying this is good.. let's all comment on each others release threads. well done you can use bandcamp. if it's not hardware I am not interested. oh god it's not in 4/4 time help.
I get it, you're trying to lull me into a sense of complacency.
