I wish someone would make something similar in a psp style formfactor, would be great for littlegptracker. Edit: Actually I missed the triggers on the back.. very tempting!

i dont think the lsdjmc2 has source code you can edit its note map so probably not. Youd need to get a midi transpose box like:
http://www.amazon.com/MIDI-Solutions-20 … B0002GH8IE
http://mutable-instruments.net/midipal

Or if you get a real midi pickup for the bass it will often have a note transpose feature. IMO getting a 2nd gameboy and running mGB will work alot better over midi.

all of these are insanely tempting deals.. someone should grab them!

You don't need a SGB with the Retron 5.  You can stick your flash cart right in the regular Game Boy slot on the front of the unit.  I can confirm that D'n'D carts work perfectly and that EMS 64 carts work with page 1 only and with only 1 ROM on the page (so LSDJ only, like usual).

What about sound quality?

I think it would work since a SGB is basically a gameboy in a cart, passing the audio and video to another device. If you prosound it you would avoid any of the retron circuitry for the parts that matter.

I bet its choking on all the extra midi data its sending. If you can filter it somehow (like remove clock, active sensing, other channel data.) it should work i wager.

If we simply forward the incoming midi bytes to the emulated link port, will it beheave like an arduinoboy? or is there more processing involved?

You would need something to do what the arduinoboy does, ie convert midi serial data into the serial data the gameboy is looking for.

man if someone hacked midi control into the remote control!!

it would be cool if you made a comp with it and sold the bundle for like $20?

Id say under >$100

Maybe Because It's trying to write to the cart but maybe the mod on the cart did a power spike or the cart is dirty and the data was corrupted.
