Mine probably just calls it "techno." sad

I'm looking forward to seeing the site grow.

I like the blog idea too.

This is my number one hope for the places popping up now.

this is exciting, but like you say thretris, it's probably best to wait a while for a stable build before committing it to a perm cart - or shell out for a rewritable+transferrer (do these exist?)

A cart can be created using a ROM socket so that the ROM chip can be taken out and replaced easily. arfink over at ChipCo mentioned he'll probably be making carts using those.

I sent a note over to Neil suggesting that he get in touch with the guys over at RetroUSB to see about having a scaled down version of the PowerPak cart for just NTRQ made if it can be done cheaper (since it'll only need to support one mapper). I'm not sure that would be the clincher for making it not $135.. as the interface with the SD card could be the bulk of that cost, but if it's possible, it'd be a hell of a lot nicer.

I just checked and it is Mega Man 4 and it's in pretty good condition, with just ONE very minor scuff on the label. I'll eMail you a picture later on though I'm not sure what else I could trade from you, hehe.

Okay, I'll have to break it up in a .zip since Google only allows 20MB attachments as far as I know.

Black and Pink.

I approve.

I've got an extra Mega Man 4 or 5 and I haven't mailed out that last box to you yet (I took it with me to work Friday and the in-office postal desk only takes cash, bastards).

Eh, it's nothing special but here's my "display" corner at the moment.

The final piece is supposed to be on the way from Germany but.. it's been four weeks. *cry*

Hey, smiletron! I'm getting a .wav of a WIP track of mine ready.. as soon as I find somewhere to upload it I will send you a direct message over Twitter. Thanks a lot for this, by the way.

I like the discussion this has brought on too, it's really fascinating to see everyone's different opinions and methods for the process.

Well, I'm generally pretty fine with how I mix in LSDJ itself (although the limited volume control in the WAVE channel drives me batty at times), so I don't think I really want to bother with recording channels individually at this point.

Does anybody here have experience with mastering? Maybe I could I send a .wav to somebody to see what they could do to it? I think that would probably help me "get" what goes on with it more than anything.

FYI, the location text underneath people's avatars is still white (thus invisible) on this theme.

Hey, I'm looking to get some stuff started in the area. If you want to help out and/or be a part of it, please get a hold of me, you should be able to send me an eMail through the forum or you can do the Twitter/FaceBook thing, whatever you're comfortable with, we'll exchange further contact information from there.

Also, if you're in other parts of Texas and want/need somebody for a show or whatever, contact me. I'm willing to make a drive depending on where it is combined with the potential of said event (though I could probably take the hit on a big drive/flight for something small just to get my feet wet at this point).

I'm kind of curious as to what people's "mastering" process of LSDJ tracks is. IAYD gave me a mini-CD of his 8bp release in November and on the back it says "Mastered by Glomag." Since the actual mixing is done in the software, what extra work is done after something is recorded and why?
