What type of video does the GP2X output?  I see that the cradle has an s-video socket but all the home made cables I've seen just have rca?  So is it s-video or composite or are they the same or...?  Duh?

The Datathrash bandcamp gets tons of hits from the "Russian Facebook":      http://vk.com
Which is totally legit but I'm guessing that's how most of this stuff gets noticed.

Have you asked Low Gain directly?

https://www.facebook.com/low.gain

Yes, mostly when using high bpm.

I've been playing with video lately and learning about digital and analog glitching.  Here are two things I've made so far:

1.  Wizwars - "Anxiety" --- audio recorded as video

2.  godinpants - "Eight Legged Freaks" --- movies clips put through a ton of sloppy conversions with some effects added

Just being associated with UCB means a winner is you!

BTW, I know I've been releasing stuff machine gun style but after one more big one I'm gonna try to chill for a while.  smile

environmental sound collapse serves up his signature industrial-flavored noise-infused style on this thick slab of acoustically recorded piggy goodness.

e.s.c. described the recording process like this:

"it was all written in piggy tracker... 4 songs are samples only, 3 are midines only... all are also run through a crate GX1200H amp using onboard distortion & Sunn 2x12LH cab"

If FM is active (the dot is not on the far left), the pitch envelope / lfo modulates FM depth instead of pitch. Try a slow LFO.

I guess what I'm asking is:  what wave is used as the modulator?  I'm assuming the S channel wave is the carrier.

@oliver - I'm loving the FM settings on the s channel but just for my own piece of mind could you explain just what is modulating what?

but for serious, I guess I have a different outlook on the whole shindig. I go to hardcore shows all the time (i played a my first [house] show with all hardcore bands last night) and outside of chip, I don't listen to much electronic music. Besides songs that are pure noise, I haven't heard anything that is 'too out there' as far as being heavy or aggressive. I've been looking to Datathrash to highlight aggressive chip artists that otherwise might not get any exposure in the chip scene because of the style they do. So when I say there are some surprising unce (I don't use that derogatorily) tracks on the compilation, I mean more that I'm surprised tracks that could potentially be on other comps were submitted. Everything (expect for my track, it sounds so bland!) sounded great on the comp, don't get me wrong.
I'm really not quite sure what I'm trying to say... some of the songs don't match up with what "thrash" means to me. It means different things to everyone, so saying that doesn't mean anything, but yeah.
To use egr's phrase, I didn't expect a break from all the slobbering madness

I get what you're saying and actually I'm sort of glad you feel that way.  I don't want Datathrash to get too overly specific with style or sound else everything would just sound the same... ya dig?  heart  "One man's thrash is another man's trash" is what my grandma always told me.
