@low-gain --  Yes to the saturation and niche argument.
But, by your numbers UDA's album would be in the "Led Zeppelin IV" bracket and yours would be in the "Popular" bracket... seems appropriate to me.
Also yes to the "assume it should be free" comment.  I'm guessing you've read "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance"?  If not get on it... it's a discussion on what constitutes Quality and Value and a person's responsibility to produce/personify those qualities.  smile  Actually, I need to re-read that myself.

@people who run or are involved with labels and netlabels:

I'm curious what the "sales figures" are like for chip releases.  As in, what would qualify for "gold" or "platinum" status like in Billboard world.

My off-the-top-of-my-head guesses are:

Typical nondescript release -- 0 to 50 downloads or purchases

Popular album -- 51 to 300 d or p

"Led Zeppelin IV" -- 301 to 1500 d or p

Superstar Fetish Time --  ?a few thousand?

Discuss amongst yourselves.

Yeah, marriage rocks... consider the money a consolation for all the "Any kids yet?" and "Oh oh, the honeymoon's over!" comments.  wink

I've got one of these. It does actually affect the CPU clock speed. It is cool to have but I never ended up finding much practical use for it. It is sometimes nice to slow down complex phrases when composing and then switch back to normal speed.

Does it affect the pitch?

Man, I'm really sorry to hear you got hit by the flood like that.  Hopefully your living conditions/important shit are still intact.  If you don't end up finding a home for these I'll volunteer to give the NES and C64s (have a working power supply) a cleaning and testing.  I've got novice electronics skills but I'm very good at not fucking things up worse.  I would be very surprised if the Dreamcast and drives are salvageable since they have gears, motors, and moving parts.  sad

EDIT:  Volunteer as in I won't let you pay me... I can make my own ( ))=====D - - - - - if needed.  tongue

Spoke to soon (from the comments):

"From what I had heard about this controller, the speed setting is not a rapid fire start button. This controller is actually allowed to access and change the cpu clock speed of the Super Gameboy, making the game run faster or slower. Very interesting, but that's pretty expensive for me."

Awesome!

what are those outputs i see at the bottom of that guitar?

It originally came with a cable that went to your tv for some kind of training video game dealy.  There's also a cartridge slot.  It has a "Hot Wheels" cart in it now.  I don't know what the connector next to the volume knob is... maybe tuning?

what's the deal with the 'trashed out C64'?

Missing a couple of keys, case cracked and won't screw together, and doesn't work.  smile  It powers on but that's about it.

Updated.

Good article and the reader comments are hilarious.  smile  I don't see this sidebar you mentioned, tho.

So I was blasting the Chicago show on the way to work this morning and in the midst of "Wave Function Collapse" comes this awesome shout:

"IT SOUNDS JUST LIKE A VIDEO GAME!  IT SOUNDS LIKE SUPER MARIO BROTHERS!"

Made my day. smile
