How come whenever I say anything negative about chipwin I have to uninstall Facebook for a couple days
I think I've blocked or unfriended enough of that core group to never have to see any of that, thank god.

Have to echo the sentiments above. To me it seems like chiptune is more alive than it's been in years - at least in Europe. There are plenty of relatively new artists who are gigging regularly. No, there may not be any extremely well known names like Anamanaguchi, Unicorn Kid, or even folk like Chipzel etc again, but that's because they were around early on - and that is natural.
Yes. I need to chime back in after my negative comment above to say I think chip is doing just fine and has more exposure than ever. Nothing needs reviving
I think Chiptunes = Win did their damnedest to scare off everyone who wasn't already into it or is a massive "I'M A GEEK LOL" type of person.
I had to completely remove myself from any interaction with them 'cause I'd just end up coming off as an angry asshole. I mean, I am an angry asshole a lot of the time but I'd rather not advertise it.
This video is a raw LSDJ recording from the excellent emulator "My OldBoy!" for Android made using the "Game Launcher" Galaxy app. It shows various settings and screens used in the song. No narration, just flipping around as the music plays.

Dungeon Crawler is my outlet for minimalist chipmusic drum and bass (ish) tracks that haven't graduated to full productions yet.

Noice! I'm significantly more interested now.
The MidiJoy lets you control the sound of the 2600 (or other device) directly from your computer just like it was a rack mount synth module or something. There's no joystick use or on screen interface. It's far more powerful than synthcart but also far more complicated.

Do you know what those steps might be?
You should look in to specific solutions for that cart but a generic solution is Goomba Color: http://www.dwedit.org/gba/goombacolor.php
That cart is for GBA games. You'd need to go through additional steps to get DMG or GBC games to play from it.
