Yay!  Test time tonight!  big_smile

EMS 64M compatible now or still not?

If you use it for algorithmic art installations, or for 8-bit sample collages, or piano roll jazz porn it's not really chip anymore. Right?

Oh, wait a sec.  Maybe we aren't talking about the same thing after all.  Because my answer to that question would be "Yes, it is."

Well, it depends on the platform. You wouldn't create a clicky wavetable on a modern PC, like you would on a gameboy. It's fun to work with unique hardware.

The point goto80 is making is that lsdj is more important to why you would make that table than the gameboy is.  Theres nothing about the gameboy thst dictates the use of tables at all, that is an interface choice.

This thread will help you out:  http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/3911/ … sequencer/

I wish this thread had gone better.  The songs rock and deserve more attention.

The font change looks like it would really help me but I'm on hardware at the moment

Well, you're lucky then. I just tested it, and the font changing works on my 386SX system just fine! :]

http://software.kvee.cz/radf.zip

- place radf.exe and font.cfg directly inside the RAD folder
- use radf.exe instead of rad.exe
- font.cfg is IT font compatible

radf.exe makes the system timer routine reload the font every tick (but only for the first 32 ticks,
or approx. 1.75 s, to not disturb the RAD playback routine)

It's still very ugly, but hey, it gets the job done :]
Enjoy!

(sorry about the confusing edits, I found a bug immediately after I wrote this and had to fix it...)

Success!  My tired eyeballs thank you!

Well I went ahead and tried some things and I was able to manipulate the palette with a quick and dirty hack

Unfortunately, it doesn't work on real hardware. I had this problem resolved earlier, can't really remember what the fix was though neutral

edit: I was able to also force-reset the font to the system default like this:

If this is useful to you, I can post the hack, though it's strictly dosbox only as of now.
(the palette is user-editable of course)

The font change looks like it would really help me but I'm on hardware at the moment (p1 labtop thus tiny resolution which is part of the problem lol).  If you remember how to make it work I'm very interested!  Color change is nice too.

How important is this palette business to you? :]

Its not critical, i was just hoping for an easier to read font.  smile

Thanks for the algorithm info, thats exactly what i needed to know!

Have ever noticed that Wizwars and IAYD are never seen in the same room together?  Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

i dont have a chance to look, but did you set the keyb range for each sample to be assigned to each key only?

here is a good tutorial:

Yeeeeah... probably not.  tongue
I'll go thru this tut and see what steps I missed.

I only get one sound even tho the instrument i created contain all the samples.

EDIT:  here's my test project https://www.dropbox.com/s/s7082kdgpas6d … SPEECH.zip

Hey Prof:  I've been trying to make a soundfont from the speech phonems from lsdj using vienna and am not having any luck.  Would you happen to know if somebody's already done this or know of some other (maybe a variety) of "speech synth" soundfonts?

@boa - that would be illuminating, lets see it (or are u jus trollin brah)

Oh shit!  My day is made!  heart
