my place is in london, come hang out smile

if you want theatre tickets, you can get cheap on-the-night tickets to musicals etc from the box office stand next to the big burger king in Leicester Square for about £20-£50 depending on what you want to see, and where you want to sit.

there are some really good vintage clothes shops/ record stores along brick lane. which reminds me i need to take a shopping trip there.

other than that, there are some really really good music shops along Denmark Street/ Tottenham Court Road, they're like the only music shops i know which have synth racks/ studio equipment nearby.

so yeah, places to hang out include:

Oxford Street
Tottenham Court/ Denmark Street (music shops, etc.)
Trocadero - for the old school arcades/ anime shops (near oxford street/ tottenham court)
Hyde Park (kinda busy a lot of the time, but it is HUGE.)
St Jame's Park (a lil out of the way, but nethertheless worth it)
Brick Lane/ Camden (purely for the markets/ shops etc - very niche/ fresh)

there's so much more but i can't really think of anything right now.

a very inspiring documentary is the one about the BBC's radiophonic workshop...(reminds me to upload an old lsdj track)
EDIT: found the name, it's "The Alchemists of Sound "

Yeah i watched this a while ago. it was awesome. i heard a bbc radio 4 (don't ask why lawl) documentary on Delia Derbyshire and her works that had been recovered and archived after she passed away. amazing stuff she created with early 'wobulators' (because synths hadn't been invented at that time) and reel-to-reel machines. she was pro at syncing tape recorders by ear.

but yeh for all you compufags, a documentary i saw about the development of linux was pretty awesome.

it's called "Revolution OS".

if you've got 85 minutes to spare and like free software, then this is for you.

yeh i dont mind new/ used but in good condition.

it's either a prophet 08 or an andromeda a6, i can't chose between the two. i really wish i had the money to get both.

i like the old school sounding, classic tones of the prophet.
the andromeda on the other hand, has very rich textures and can create amazing layered pads and arps.

i'm torn :s

So hey,

i'm thinking about getting a DSI Prophet 08.

anyone here have any recommendations of analog synths in the <£/$2000 price range?

if there's a particular sound i want, i'll research it, try to remake it.
if all fails, i sample it.
it's a lot cheaper than going out and buying the hardware.

free gig? im there.
