TLDR: Why do people choose soundcloud as a place to upload their music? What is it's function? Is it there for easy embedded players on social sites? Is  it there so randoms can see what you have downloaded? I don't understand its popularity to be honest, but then again I haven't used it much.

EDIT: But here's mine nonetheless tongue http://soundcloud.com/cityscape-go

Generally though, most people I expose to chipmusic like it, or at least understand it as a medium*.

Thank you a ton for the criticism. It is very helpful!:) this being my first full length album I'm glad I got some solid criticism! I agree full heartidly, its too unfocussed, many if the songs were added without thinking of the album as a whole, and as a result seem to jar with the other songs. My next album will be better produced hopefully. Thanks again

Hahaha, I never really noticed either... well I did, but I didn't take it in properly. FML.

Days too Damp for Memory

I know this is a late post for this release but I just think, why not? Better late than never.

The LP album consists of 15 (1 secret track in full downloads) songs crafted by me in many different trackers, and studio programs. The music ranges from Raw NES sounds/songs to purely classical and indie compositions.

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it! It was really the highlight of my 2010 year.

PS: I'm busy working on a Bedtime Stories EP which should be out in about a month or two and which will hold 3 songs and three stories that are meant to be read with their respective songs. Hope it works out!

EDIT: Oh, and all my music is free, no email required.

good things to you all,
peace.

True. Though it is nice to see how much artists grow!

I wish half of these people engaged throughly in 8bc where half as engaged in the rest of the community. Maybe Id know who the fuck they were then. I really want to know who you are, but 8bc has alot going against it in terms of promoting anonymity.

This is kinda reminding me of the last big blackout when I met all my neighbors. Hope we stay in touch!

signed, the first user to upload a file on 8bc,

What do you mean by not promoting anonymity?

I think he/she means that because there so many songs being uploaded at 8bc all the time, for any one person to view them all would be hard/impossible meaning often your posted music is either overlooked/forgotten etc... Am i wrong?

Thanks for the tutorial Decktonic smile

I hope 8bc come back soon. I don't have anywhere to get my chiplols.

In other words the image section big_smile

I didn't mean to sound rude, sorry.

Its just "If I want to hear something, I make it myself. It offers a creative challenge that's exactly what music is missing – challenge! Music is too godd*mn polluted" seemed like an over-generalization at best.

"Musically what are you into that you're embarrassed to admit to?
TSC: Nothing. This would mean I give a sh*t what others think about my own tastes. The musical tastes of others is embarrassing enough for me."
Also just sounded off to me.

But otherwise I enjoyed reading it nontheless.

The rivalry here is really silly.

Well as you guys always say "you werent there, you never saw the hate" or something... but still; I think its time to move on. One thread simply to assuage curiosity about another site does not mean all this site is here for is to back up the later.

Like most people here, I also use 8bc, so I'm interested in knowing what's going on with it. Doesn't seem too outlandish to me that we have an informative thread about it.

Many people are curious. That's all it is.

To be honest he sounded very pretentious.

guh, you get my point, nick

my point is that single mp3's don't get a lot of action here no matter who you are. personally, i think that's fine.

however, check out the releases board on here. lots of action there.

Truth.
