im just not good at this marketing stuff i just make the product i dont know how to push it i need a manager or something
I disagree, by playing this part of being a moronic, newbie type of guy your music has attracted more attention in the last few days than a lot of artists who deserve the attention.
I've really tried to do the hybrid approach, but I haven't yet made anything that I'd want to listen to on a PC or a Mac.
Having a limitless approach with any number of sounds and instruments doesn't help me at all. I'd rather be restricted by my own talent (on the guitar) or by CPU capabilities (on something like a Game Boy).
i'd bemore concerned about having the program to write music before you're concerned w/ playing live
Words to live by. Anyone who believes that they'll be instantly playing live should take a look at the MSSIAH manual to show how much depth these programs for writing chipmusic have.
But you're the guy from the "no profanity on chipmusic" and that's bullshit.
My favourite bits of that article:
"If people want to use a swear word to describe a chiptune on its page, they do so, and they can do so without hesitation because that sort of thing is allowed on the 8BC."
"Someone needs to teach people the true meaning of the word "cool"."
Can you set up a bandcamp or something? I don't like downloading whole releases then listening, and just uploading it to mediafire makes it look pretty unprofessional. If you want people to listen, it's something to consider.
I don't know if it has gone any way towards extending our scene, but putting on a big event has certainly helped to bring together and tighten our scene in Scotland. We had tutorials, busking (as you can see above, it was both well received and hated simultaneously) and other stuff during the day as well.
Please donate to this what you can! Kyle is a great guy, and he has talked about trying to make this happen since I first met him. If you can't donate, reposting on Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc is also helpful.
