volume meter isnt that hard to do i think, but fairly pointless. a proper spectrograph is v. hard/next to impossible to do and fairly pointless

50% pan would be impossible, there isn't really "pan" as such, you can just send a channel to none, one, or both of 2 outputs which happen to be panned left and right. you would be able to fake panning using both pulse channels by sending one to left output and one to right and then changing the volume of each but this is more effort than it is worth to you i think

some feedback:
a more comprehensive help section!

i can't really tell you any more than that, because i have no idea how to use it...

much of my musical inspiration comes from the process itself, and from feedback between the software and my head, happy accidents, etc ~ so much of it is influenced by the software that i feel that using something else to compose with and then transcribing into whatever other software is going to change the way i write music a lot. is this a good thing or a bad thing? who knows. if i was the kind of person who had IDEAS appear in my head, and needed a way to get them down instantly, maybe songstarter would be great for that. i can't really tell.

anyway, i am intrigued by this software and i think i shall repurpose it as something to write songs from start to finish with. "sometimes, you just want to jam". maybe you should be marketing this as a live performance and improvisation / live-composition tool rather than as a song-starter as such. in which case it needs more features. if it is literally just something to get ideas down with, maybe it needs less features.

i'll play around with it a bit more. maybe i'll write an album with it.

thanks for making it. i hope you get more interest

don't necessarily need a mixer, but an effect command that sets volume for a channel and is PERSISTENT !

i suppose the hardware volume envelopes make it tricky but you just set them to start at the volume set by the effect,...

in IT this is "Mxx (Set channel volume to xx)"

it's great

i liked making horse because i wrote the whole thing in 3 days and i got to think about horses non stop for days and the music was flowing out of me since it was sent to me by divine horse spirits so i didn't actually have to write any of it and i was really pleased with the way it sounded

aw, i thought this was going to be about a chip gig taking place at nikola tesla's wardenclyffe tower!

this might be of interest

was just telling someone about this today actually, dunno why i didn't think to use it!

enough people get the notes wrong that it won't catch all of them, though

if i do another one it will probably be axel f

i think there are even more axel f chipmixes than there are for popcorn

quite a lot of them got the rhythm wrong and did the start in straight quavers ~ that's not how i remember popcorn at all

but it's funny at least, and some of them are really cool

hard to see what colour it is in that light!

but the stripe looks cool and the backlight is bright

smile kinda odd but nice in places, quite alright for a first EP

i lovingly compiled/curated this pack of 69 chiptune remixes of popcorn (by gershon kingsley)

http://aanaaanaaanaaana.net/stuff/popcorn.zip

ideally for introducing friends to chiptune, for long nights working/studying/coding, for putting on cassette tapes to listen to for long drives in your car, playing in dj sets at parties, etc, possibilities are endless

which one is your favourite? maybe you can try listening to them all at the same time?

enjoy!

rad lineup!

hope you have better luck this time!

edit: i suppose you mean simple as in harmonics,  sorry, ignore that then
