That's great!
Do you use SCART in the UK? I'd suggest getting an RGB -> SCART cable in that case. RF is really shitty. You can also get B/W video from an RCA connector, which I guess would be fine for most music software.
You can get colour from RCA, I'm sure (because it's what I do), and also RCA ---> SCART works fine in colour (because I do that sometimes too).
Your arguement is a paradox. You want to promote the freedom of speech regardless of how stupid that point of view might be but you also want people to make a judgment to self censor if it is not constructive.
Yeah... You can't have your cake and eat it too.
Being respectful to other people is a self-censorship everyone does so much that I would hardly call it self-censorship anymore, it's just part of life (a pretty important part, too). Posting things with no intention at all of being constructive is disrespectful, I think, and I'm sure we'd all rather have less of it.
People being able to say their own point of view without being mocked by other people is something we should aim for here, I think.
Maybe everyone can read up on netiquette a bit, try to be civil to other people here, to stay on topic mostly, and then we won't need any more threads like this one.
Edit: typo
if you say well show the first three tags, people will start complaining on how those first three aren't really what thier song is about or putting stupid memes in them
Random three? Most common three (which would probably bring up more "LSDJ" or "C64" than "wobblestep dubfunk", so is possibly slightly more useful, and would cut down on stupid memes)?
Really, someone shouldn't be tagging the song with stuff that doesn't represent it properly anyway.
The other thread was joule's reaction to peoples' reaction to this thread, rather than vice versa, if that makes sense...
Yeah, KeFF, that's great!
The beam of light casting a shadow, haha!
I'm really frugal (read: no social life) and rarely buy anything much which isn't food. Also, I don't drink, smoke, or drive, which helps. Get a bicycle, it will pay itself back in no time at all if you drive everywhere at the moment. Turn the heating down in your house, wear more clothes. Turn things off when you aren't using them, etc.
I really like it! It will be great with vocals over it.
Great art!
Plus, are there any good tutorials/good tracks to examine to get hold of the tables and other more complex stuff?
I think every track released by hexawe has the source available too.
Thanks! It's pretty.
Awesomeness indeed, sounds great.
/me STFUs
Jpeg flier. Cool lineup though!
Yes i also like the idea of bookmarks subscription. Or something similar.
I interpret bookmarks just as "i want to remember this for later". Also it would still require people to browse around here trying to find music - the bookmarks needs to be created at some point.
As do likes, and a quality filter system would require every upload to be listened to as well. It's just another way to share tastes between everyone - like having a load of clones of yourself (assuming you find people with similar enough taste) to help you listen to it all.
The worst case is that everyone comes here, listens to every single song in a search for something they like, and keeps that to themselves (so the upload section is nothing more than a big list of songs), but hopefully when this upload section is finished it won't turn out like that at all.
I'm interested in thumbs, maybe they will provide a good way to find good music.
A 'subscribe to bookmarks' type feature would help find good music, maybe... so if, e.g, Joule finds 5 people who he thinks have good taste, he can subscribe to their bookmarks, and in some 'recommendation' section somewhere will be a list of the songs those people bookmarked. Failing that, even being able to see what someone bookmarked/liked on their profile would help find good music, I think. μB had some pretty good ideas in another thread about this.
Essentially I think joule wants more focus on community members helping each other find interesting tracks so that not everyone has to listen to everything to find new good music (am I right, joule?). I agree, but I'll wait for this to get finished and see what happens, before bugging Trash80 for new features etc.
