I watched a good portion and I thought all the music was pretty good.  You're able to get a lot of cool gritty sounds.  Some bits could get a bit repetitive, but that's not always bad.  I noticed you using the high pass filter on your mixer.  Do you have any other effects you could use to spice up the parts that get a bit repetitive?  Maybe you could get a cheap effects pedal.  Also, you've got a lot of drops in your music.  That high pass filter you're using would be a great added effect just before the bass drops or the kick picks up.  These are all just minor tweaks.  Your music is good.  And, as the guy in the video said about 1,000,000 times, happy birthday!

This looks like a lot of fun.  How's the Mac version coming?  I can use bootcamp until then.  Just wondering cuz it says "coming soon".

You're reading it the wrong way.  It's Tub Opt Pope.

I figured this may be the case, as this is the case with many artists (myself included).  I guess it wouldn't make too big of a difference then as long as there weren't a ton of them taken out in the same area.  It still may throw off the tempo slightly if you ever used it with a time based effect like a delay.

Just in FL, zoom in on the click, cut the click out and then move the audio back together so the waveforms match up.
I only do this in soft sections or on fadeouts and stuff like that, though.

The only problem with this is, if you have other tracks, it can throw the track you made the cuts from out of sync with the others if you do this too many times.  I would suggest doing as EvilWezil says and use the pen tool in your DAW to draw out the click.  It won't be completely gone, but it will be much more suppressed.  Some DAWs also allow you to apply EQ to a selected area.  If you notch out some of the click and apply the EQ to the worst spots, that would work well.  This is also a great method for getting rid of plosives on vocal takes smile

For the record, I use an SP for everything. I use an insane amount of panning, and there is NO panning clicks in any channel on the SP. I believe the color works as well, but I don't own one so I can't represent. The DMG pops like a madman at the slightest O command.

This is good to know.  I'm gonna try out my SP now.

Yeah, man!  Maybe that's all I need is a change of attitude.  I'll call it:
Dr. Frostbyte or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Click.

I've played around with that and it does seem to make it better to decrease the length, but having the depth of the full 16 frames would be so cool.  It's a shame, but I can accept it for what it is.  Skipping through frames like that is a lot like when you make cuts in a recording in a DAW, I'd imagine.  If you put tiny fades on either end of the chopped region, however, it gets rid of the click.  I wonder if there'd be a way to implement into a future update of LSDJ some sort of tiny crossfade between frames.  Maybe not.  I'll admit I have no idea what goes into the software programming or what its limitations are.  It's still a lot of fun to make sounds with, clicks or no clicks.

I've got to say:
1. This is a great compilation for a great cause.
2. Thank you for being reasonable and making a compilation where the artist is all one thing so I don't have to either hunt down every song or make sure "compilation" is checked within every song on it then have to enter the cobweb-filled "compilations" section of my iPod.

Brrrrrravo!

Good points.  I don't hear them nearly as much as the other channels are playing, though I still can.  But the grittier sound does seem to help.  And I really like the frame speed matching the tempo.  That seems to work pretty well.  I just wish there was a better way to cycle through a waveform faster without it sounding super harsh.
Does anyone know if it pops as bad on other handhelds?

I've been goofing around a lot more with the Wave channel thanks, in part, to Roboctopus' tutorials and more and more drawing my own waveforms.  The only thing about it, of course, is that confounded clicking!  With that and with the panning (O) command.  I know that there's not much that can be done about it, but does anyone have any tips on how to work with it so it's not so noticeable?  I work using a DMG-01.  I was watching a tutorial by Danimal Cannon that mentioned the clicking being a "hardware flaw".  So it doesn't click on emulators?  I've never used an emulator for LSDJ.  How many of you record using emulators?  Would you suggest it?  Thanks in advance.  I appreciate you guys.

I love it.  I will be considering you for my first official release.

Could use some work.  Play around with whichever program you're using, utilize the helpful threads on this site to arm you with new tools and new way to develop your own instruments/make the most of the limits of this medium of making music.  You'll learn love them actually.  Working within certain limits and finding new ways to do things is a lot of the appeal of this style to me.  Might I suggest starting on LSDJ's site or some such place (there are a lot of tutorials).  Once you've got the hang of things, read Roboctopus' guides on Noisechannel.org.  They're really great tools for the intermediate to advanced user.  And listen to lots of different music.  Even use a reference track while you're writing to try to emulate some things you like.  Remember, to make good music, or anything else for that matter, it takes time.  Don't rush things.  Sit on them a while or come back to them.  Keep it up.

Nobody ever stated over here that a blue DMG has a better sound than a red one.

Oh, but they do.  Like I just said, more expensive means better.  Also, I live in an RPG.

No, but seriously, he makes a good point.  Who cares if you don't care about the type of Gameboy someone uses?  Some people do.  Some people have badass painted ones.  I like seeing stuff like that.  Also, he just said he's 13.  Let him some slack.  Maybe he'll end up being the next VCMG.  You never know.  ¯\(º o)/¯

But, square0ne, I also happen to like grammar nazi jokes.  Don't take it personally.  Just fix yo spellin' and move on.  (In case you were wondering, the correct "your" in that case would have been the one I just typed. wink  )
