So bangin'. I'm loving the latest influx of nanoloop releases; so much variety!

Are there any audio examples of FAT? I downloaded the rom and ordered a flash cart for it but I realised I haven't even heard what it can do yet, hah. I guess if it's shit I can just chuck some cool rare game on the cart anyway.

nice! Hopefully someone starts producing coloured ones again. I'd like some red or teal ones to put on my blue micros big_smile

ahhhh I knew I had a reason to order a GBA flash cart

Aodix?

Psycle?

SunVox?!

I finally made a nanoloop album. Recorded in one take using a gameboy micro and kaoss pad 3, with minimal edits.

Track list:

1. hikari star 07:04
2. versalife 06:05
3. nanosilo 03:01
4. okimata 11:14
5. goth city 08:39
6. replicator 08:47
7. nanodisco 04:51
8. quark rapid 03:46
9. electret ocean 06:14

Thought you other nanoloopers might be interested in this set I played from a DMG and gameboy micro (synced with homemade cable) on the weekend:

Visuals by Josh aka TravisRigger; audio/video recorded by Aday.

The gameboys were synced only for transitions, really—most of the time only one is making sound at a time—but they stayed in sync surprisingly well.

Also worth noting is that this set is pretty sketchy, since I composed all of the DMG tracks on Thursday and Friday after only getting the NL1 cart on Wednesday.. so future live sets will be better, but I thought I'd share it anyway.

I want to add that if you don't like doing something then don't do it.  Making chiptune is not your job.  You have no responsibility or requirement to use any of the things you've bought just because you have them.

I'm saying this because all the responses to these kinds of threads tend to be "KEEP GOING!! YOU'RE THE BEST!! NEVER STOP FOREVER!!" but it is just as valid for you to realize that you don't enjoy making chip and decide to stop.  No biggie.  I don't like mushrooms so I don't eat them.  Ya feel me, brah?

This. LSDJ wasn't working out for me (I was having creativity problems as well as various problems with carts) so I gave up on it and gave nanoloop a try instead. Now I have 3 nanoloop carts and I can't stop making tunes (or at least little loops) in it.

Cool, thanks. I might have a look at updating the firmware tonight or tomorrow.

Wait, does this mean it works with the old EMS carts? I think I'm pretty much switching to nanoloop now but it'd be nice to have the option to put either LSDJ or a song made in Deflemask on my crappy EMS 32 cart, heh

edit: also it says your GBA carts are in stock, but also says they're discontinued. Are they actually in stock and will they work with the squinson?

Definitely. You've certainly inspired me (along with other chip musicians like abandoned on fire, biographs, the mist toggles etc) to start getting a bit weirder with my chip sound design/arrangements. I was previously trying to come up with constant bangers, and while I still like using a techno beat, I've realised that there's already a lot of amazing chip tech/house stuff out there, and I should try to do my own thing big_smile

Anyway, back on track, great album!
