1. Ghost LVL (3D Version)
2. Cumbial Orbit (NEO edit)
3. Spamson (Delilah Mix)

A collaboration between a rising chip bass artist and an amazing ambient composer. These three tracks are ambient expansions of live chip bass compositions. Ethernet uses the simple powerful minimalism of the original compositions to trigger vast environments of reverb an delay. Daddy Longlegs explores dub, dub-step and cumbia in these 3 tracks (1 of which remains trapped in the silence of a dead nanoloop 2.5 cartridge - "Spamson (Delilah mix)" is trapped on this dead chip this edit is its only incarnation).

Battery Powered Baby Shower / Fundraiser

Daddy Longlegs
Black With Ants
BPM Ensemble

2 of the core members of the BPM Ensemble including one of Battery Powered Music's founders are having a baby! Due any day now really. While Summer has had the chance to be showered with love and gifts for the little one with not 1 but 2 babay showers, Elias has gotten no action. Fortunately every other Monday he meets up with a crew of folks and has a grand old time at Backspace. Backspace is an excellent place to have an open mixer and a great place for people of all ages to gather. This got Elias thinking, "What if I through a battery powered baby shower there?" This seemed like a good idea and soon he found himself typing the very words you are reading.

Here is the plan. Tamarack music has recently released, on limited edition cassette tape and digital download, RECHARGEABLE Vol. 2. This release is the best live sets from a year of music making with a fabulous group of players that comprise the BPM Ensemble. So...Elias will be bringing about 50 of these cassettes to Battery Powered Music next Monday, to give to you as a gift for any donation of $6 or MORE. If enough money is raised, these donations will allow Elias to be with his new family for the first month of baby Arthur's time with us all on the outside.

As always this night will have an open mixer, an opportunity to get your battery powered music nerd on and catch the fever of affordable powerful music production. In addition Battery Powered Music will be introducing a new format breaking the night up into 20-30 minute sessions of solo or smaller ensemble showcases.

RECHARGEABLE Vol.2 tape release - 100 handmade cassettes with digital download

The first year of Battery Powered Music history has been written in magnetic signatures across 100 cassette tapes and is available  here as a download only, or 1 of 100 handmade limited edition cassettes with the digital album included. The cream of the kraut of live recordings of the BPM Ensemble's early experiments and most recent adventures in composition and improvisation. We played in parking lots, drum studios, a historical theater, a flooding room, a wedding, a camper, a street party and a residency at Backspace Cafe in Portland, OR. This howling broiling mass of handheld techno is a harrowing anthem of focus and fun.

The "songs" and grooves in these tracks are written on a Nintendo DS / GBA running nanoloop, a phone running nanoloop, Beaterator on the Sony PSP. The rest of the mix is a mash of guitar pedals Korg handhelds, toys and battery powered instruments.

Thanks for all the interest and encouragement this last year. We are excited to bring you the second cassette of the ReChargeable series and a sweet chunk of live electronics for you to download. ReChargeable Vol. 3 is hot on the heels of this release with a guest producer and technician in the mix!
