what is the point of multiple roms if you can only store one save at a time?

can i be  the first to call bullshit? i can't find anything about this duel boot cart and OT has failed to post a link

the pot on the gameboy breaks, there are lots of gameboys out there where the wipers on the pot are damaged and it effects sound, which is why i always go pre pot.

On a side note...I think I read on that other website that the American SGB's clock is different from the DMG, but the Japanese one is the same.  Is there any truth to this?

the super gameboy has the same chip as the DMG, it should be identical in the way it works, so it should work with all gameboy carts, i think the reason you can't select SGB is because super gameboy carts have extra info on them like border support, which i don't think these carts are up to. but they will still work fine,

the super gameboy doesn't have a clock in it, it takes it from the snes, this is the same in all first edition super gameboys including jap ones,

but the super gameboy 2, which is bright blue and only sold in japan, is based on the gameboy pocket chip, it has a built in link port for linking with a normal gameboy, and so the clock speed had to match, that is why these ones have their own internal clock.

wow, this is really great, any chance for a tutorial? i'd love to make one of these for myself.

well, i can make a custom one for you if you like,

i am considering making some kits, (pre programmed Arduino and wires etc)

but i could do a complete guide, but so far each time i have done this it has been very different so a lot is down to personal requirement. people would have to modify the guide to suit their needs, and if they can do that then they should be able to do it without my help

NICE work NeX. You never cease to impress with your mad modding skills. I wish I had the time and resources to put into projects like this myself. It's just that it's so hard for me to mod things and then sell them. I guess it's the Golem complex... It's MINE, precious!

haha i know exactly how you feel, i really didn't want to sell this one, but i bought all the parts to make one for selling, so i told myself not to get too attached, it wasn't easy

i didn't have any smaller LEDs otherwise i would have made some flush fitting ones. but it means you can see the LEDS from the front as well as the top and it looks great sitting on a mixing deck at a live show,

sorry about the listing it is supposed to start at 8 so its not up yet.

Here is my second midi gameboy, it is more advanced than the last one as it supports midi out as well.

it has a yellow backlight that is biverted, and internal pro sound.

I just received a Super Game Boy that I won in an eBay auction and decided to test it out for the first time. I'm finding that the audio output when running a GB cart is really, really, ridiculously soft. The start-up sound is certainly loud enough, and normal SNES games are working fine with regular levels.. I thought maybe it might be an LSDJ thing, but even a normal GB cart (Super Mario Land 2) is practically inaudible unless I turn the TV up like four times as loud as I normally have to set it. I guess I'm wondering a) if this is normal (doesn't seem likely) and b) if anyone else has experienced this and might know why it's happening or have a fix (besides a pro-sound mod). I guess this is what you get when you win an SGB for $6 :-/ Though it was described as working well...

Thanks!

could be dodgy contacts, or the caps have blown in the super gameboy, never heard of that happening but its possible

that sounds cool i would like to see that, are you going to post them here?

Yeah.. i 'll post pix of them here..
I have one just about finished,i just need to drill out the chassis for it.
I'm planning on building a couple more and selling them off for like $300-350 each.

thats a nice idea! let me know if you get good money for them because this reverb circuit is nice and easy to make, if i could make some money from it that would be even better

Whoa, that's really cool. Nice job fitting it in that small area. Haha.

Hmmmm, a quick question though, any advice for what to read up on using chips like this for effects? I'm trying to see if I can build my own pedals to be used for my guitar and gameboy because i think it'll be cheaper than buying $100 pedals. Plus it'll be DIY which is always cooler. ^_^ But I've never really messed with circuitry before.

thanks,

as for effects pedals, well i haven't really done much in the way of audio manipulation before, i just looked up reverb on the nex and found this chip and looked for example circuits based on it. so i suppose you just want to look up what you want to do and see if you can find any info on it.

with electronics you have to take your time, i did this circuit twice, and both times they failed the first time, the one i did on PCB failed because i had shorted some tracks, and the second one failed because i put a resistor in series instead of parallel, so you just have to keep working on them and they will work eventually.
