Tadpole is hands down the best NES composer. He's blown everyone out of the water for years. I had the amazing opportunity to work with him on Diad (http://ubiktune.com/releases/ubi065-diad-diad).

Unfortunately his website is now offline. You can find some of his stuff here: http://2a03.free.fr/?p=pub&dir=tadpole

My fav of none Diad of his is his song with RJ1 named Identity.

An other great classic is SLiVeR. He was essentially my mentor when I first started out. Unfortunately his website is also offline.

You can listen to some of his stuff here: http://www.ptesquad.com/more/pte006.html

I grew up with dialup and didn't have much patience to download MP3s. So I would download and listen to .nsf files from various videogames instead. After some more digging I found there was a small niche community of .nsf composers at 2a03.org. I joined the message board and slowly learnt MML to do my own .nsf. Soon after famitracker was invented and changed the nsf scene inside out. Fast forward 11 odd years and here we are.

let the musicians make friends

(no more schisms!!)

There's a difference between making friends and alienating a whole community with repeated incoherent subjects that are not contributing at all to the whole of the site.

this is chipmusic.org not aanaaanaaanaaana.net

lpower - Abinox II

1.Opening
2.Passage
3.Think, Do, Act
4.3 in 4
5.Alliances
6.Front Line
7.At the Start = In the End

With Abinox I lpower explored what makes a video game soundtrack tick. With Abinox II he returns with a similar concept in mind. Once again, the basic components (sounds, structures and emotions) of his favourite soundtracks are used as building blocks, this time using a wider sound palette, including the Nintendo Entertainment System and DX7 Synthesizer, allowing space for more experimentation and resulting in a deeper, darker release. Moreover, the compositions are longer but refuse to repeat or loop, creating a strong narrative and constant progression.

Telefuture and Pterodactyl Squad can safely say that this is one sequel that doesn’t suck.

Both Abinox I and II can be downloaded for free via Pterodactyl Squad, while a limited cassette can be purchased in the Telefuture shop.

Professionally duplicated cassettes with orange shells, white imprinting, and green tinted cases. Limited to 50 copies!
