Megabus and Boltbus make quite the rounds, and I'm willing to bet some folks would travel down if you worked something out. Send some e-mails to people you're interested in working with.

The fact that this is amazing and that Timbral destroys is the least surprising, but most exciting news. Really awesome.

The opening track from 505 is an absolutely flawless opening in every way. Just gorgeous.

The problem might be that NYC wants to organize the scene.

My original point was that this is the exact opposite of what is happening, and you said you agreed. So yeah, this came from out of nowhere, and to be blunt, it's absolutely ridiculous.

Blip Festival is one of many chip music festivals that have existed or will exist. The other ones? Yeah, if you haven't noticed, they book a helluva lot of their locals, too. This is a good thing.

This festival here happens to be, arguably, the most successful one because of global support and careful planning. The idea that NYC wants to organize the chip scene just because they have this support is absolutely absurd and seems to be a projection of your aforementioned "omg ant1 isn't playing" sentiment. It's unfair to the global chipmusic community.

@DaPantz : though I get your point and tend to agree with it for the most part, this "they're getting ignored'' feeling is shared by a lot of fans.

I hear ya, but...well, I always try my best to avoid saying things like this or even feeling things like this, but I personally feel that shared feeling is just...

Wrong. So very wrong.

Blip Festival is not a lifetime achievement award, and the Blip Festival curators aren't arbiters of taste. The reason it seems that way is because people respect their opinions so much, and I'm one of those people, so that's justified in some way. But they're usually pretty explicit about the festival being what they think is the best fit for a lot of reasons, and it's not about satisfying everyone (an impossible task)...

That's the thing...I don't think they're "ignoring" any one, and the fact that everyone perceives things that way is the problem.

There's only so many slots and so much time, so they make judgment calls when choosing who to invite each year. If they booked everyone they wanted to every year, the festival would last several weeks.

Actually, TWO DAYS.

I took a look at the menu and went "oh FUCK". Really excited!
