Great advice here! My band-mate and I have been building a lot on the whole gameboy + band construct recently. It really gives you a lot to work with, without a massive setup or unstable hardware. 2 people + gameboy really gives you all the sound you need to fill a venue. I definitely agree that the rhythm on the LSDJ track should be forceful and distinct as to keep everyone aware of the timing.

Golab is a local band that I love, they use LSDJ very effectively in their live shows: http://golabgo.com

So my band of 2 people did a show a while ago with LSDJ as the backbone. Its just 1 DMG, a guitar and a little percussion set.

Here is a bad recording of the show at a tiny bar:

It was our first show with the LSDJ setup, and our vocals are shitty, but of course we blame the sound guy tongue Other than then those rough parts, i think it works pretty well. Our style is sort of folkish punkish, and we composed the songs around songs we had already written.

Has anyone had any experiences preforming live with LSDJ and a band? If so, lets share some advice, eh?

I played a show as my new moniker padded around a lot of other dance DJs. They all liked my 8-bit dirty beats, so I think it went well.

DMG + LSDJ + MiniKP

Enjoy.

Bliptrip is amazing fun!  great release big_smile  It has a very sparkly smooth sound, yet chaotic and crispy. Delicious.

I tried to do this, but I stopped before I started in accordance with the theme.

i did not have the power.

(apparently i also did not have the power to post in the correct thread. Looks like I still have some time with this one)

Small live shows via video hangout? I know this can be done another way, but this seems like less hassle.

This tracker is beautiful, and so is your song Mr boomlinde. It displayed the power of the program very well. I'll definitely be giving it a serious session or two.

I'm excited about Combat Dave being on the ticket, even though he wont buy me a plane ticket to attend. It would only be a 1-way ticket Dave, I learned my lesson last time.

MATHS!

I've also heard things about its speech synthesis engine. Probably similar to the one on LSDJ.

I have this Alesis SR-16 that works as a very nice midi drum machine. There is something wrong with the sound chip, so audio out isnt an option. I've been using it to control my SP-404 sampler and its worked very well for providing quickly accessible drum patterns, and velocity sensitive pads. It could be used with a midi interface to control many chip music devices and whatnot.

Is there any interest for this if I ask for $45?

I just have to post this:

From this site : http://www.noiseaddicts.com/2009/04/plasma-speakers/

Plasma speakers + chip music seems like a perfect match. I am very intrigued.

Thanks!  Glad to be here!

So the end product will go  Outro -> ??? -> Intro? or do we just build it that way and arrange it forwards?
