Basically it's a beefed up 2600 with the same sound chip, the TIA. So you have programs for the 2600 to work with. Look for Paul Slocums work (Synthcart, Music Kit, Loopcart) and Little-Scales MIDI interface. While the timbre's of the 7800 are really cool it takes adjusting to work with its very limited pitch if your used to something like Gameboy. I'm excited to hear what you come up with!

Looking for the original PC-Engine preferably with a controller. Not looking to pay an arm and a leg... I don't have much for trades unless you want an LSDJ keyboard, or an Atari 2600 heavy sixer and or synthcart and video touch pads.

I think we should talk to Memblers who runs Nesdev. He developed the squeedo synth cartridge which x|k modified and wrote code for to develop MIDINES I believe. Possibly Memblers would be willing to share his board design so we could set out to build our own. Skrasms is also prototyping NES MIDI module that is however standalone. I recall him mentioning that project was in the back burner however.
Kevtris is also working on a FPGA MIDI synth which supports MANY sound chip among them the 2a03 and its Famicom expansion buddies!
(cant find the link right now...)
Now get to work people!

I love this site! However... it appears it focuses on ST stuff. I saw a mention of synthcart but if you are going for the entire Atari entourage, more comprehensive 2600 and POKEY stuff would be cool. If not, this is the best ST site on the net!

Hmmm... It would appear that if you order now you would probably get it soon as he's filling orders backwards. A few people got it quick after ordering recently I believe.

In your opinion what is better? Theta Music Composer or Black Magic Composer? I've been considering getting into POKEY music and I'm curious. Do you know of any special tricks to overcome the POKEY's detuning?

If your looking for the ultimate in sequencers, Midibox SEQ is the way to go! Getlofi has a dirt cheap 8 step sequencer PCB for sale as well, which I'm hot on building soon. Also speaking of Midibox, the SID and FM both can perform CV out with an extra board. I'm excited to try CV controlled vactrols and such on some bent projects with my to be finished FM! Excited to hear about your project Low-Gain!

Now that is the best news I've heard in a freaking while. The only lacking on the PSP was MIDI and this could be a dream come true!

Re: POST YOUR CIRCUIT BENT STUFF! (8 replies, posted in Circuit Bending)
I had a bent speak and spell... which broke, an awesome effector made out of a voice changing microphone and it had a slider for pitch and was cool... that broke, and all sorts of other miscellaneous bends which all pretty much broke. I have been working on a Merlin handheld bend and I'm pretty syked because it is comprised of SMT components and the bending seems to be going well. I'll post pictures when its finished.
