Yo!  I got 2 IIGS's kicking around.  While its not on my immediate list of platforms to start writing music I have some knowledge about it and still play games regularly.  I do wish to write music on it eventually too!  I think something like this would also be useful albeit with a bigger screen:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFcw0UTRL1w

Also I'm from WI.  SUPER CLOSES RADIUS?@!  We still need some software to really kick this thing into gear too!!!

Are you running straight beeper with no AY?  That must be one heavy crunchy beast!  I'd love some MP3's!!!

I'm 14 so most of my income is through Christmas and my Birthday. wink  I still think getting a job is hard!

I couldn't find much about those first two but they look to be the only ones for composing.  Time to dig for apps...

Hmmm, I saw that Moonsound but is it supported by anything?  I thought the SCC, Phillips Music Module, FM-Pac, and FRANKY!!! would be my best bet but even there I'm running into cartridge slot issues!  Maybe the Moonsound could simplify things a bit...

I've going to keep an eye on this for sure.  Looks like a very nice piece of hardware!

I'm in the USA.  While I really only want one with the built in FM chip, I totally feel like geeking out on one of these and a Turbo R seems top of the line! sad  I'll keep looking around...

MSX music keeps seeming cooler and cooler!  Any ideas where I could grab one?

That Midibox project is dead yes.  I have looked at it a bit and the original intention was to turn it into a looping sample synth but if I ever pick up where he left off I'll make a full fledged sampler.

There's me being ignorant. I didn't think about the joy port not being able to send data out xD
But the expansion port would be easy to use for MIDI clock I bet!

Check out the thread at NESDev about an ethernet adapter for the expansion port.  Sounded like the expansion port would be able to do that and more!

Well people are not willing to write the support for it because MIDI is not necessary for demoscene productions.
This device works with MIDISLAVE and it's cheap. I think I'm gonna buy it if the specifications are correct. Thanks a lot man!

[edit] Hmm... after further inspection, I don't think this solution has the control I want... I would depend on creating the patches on the C64 all the time and I don't want that.

Hmmm, I suppose so.   I'm just waiting for a dual SID tracker with MIDI sync! wink

I think that a C64 tracker should def have MIDI sync.  Considering something like this is even for sale!
