@irrlichtproject - Thank you, I'm going to try and re-work the intro sequence and have a new copy uploaded in a day or so and then we can move forward from there.

@Feryl - Thanks!

If people have any suggestions like @thebitman then feel free to post them. Any and all feedback is appreciated.

A bit late to the game on this one, but I'm interested in taking a stab at this. Would I just upload it to my soundcloud when finished and then link to the original? or what?

@thebitman - I agree, I felt as though it was a bit slow as well. As far as the movement, I just added that for a little bit more movement in the scene as it looked pretty static without anything, but that can always be toned down or removed.

@Theta_Frost - Thanks! I definitely think there should be a sound with the intro, but I wasn't sure if I would just put it overtop of the intro of the song or have completely seperate audio (the seperate audio would probably be better because of the way the visualizer is set up).

Hey Everyone,

I've uploaded version 1 of both the intro sequence and the visualizer to the YouTube channel, so people can check them out at the links below:

Intro Sequence
Visualizer Demo

Feedback is much appreciated and feel free to post here or on the videos with any suggestions you may have.

I'll be making some tweaks this week and finalizing everything, so if things go according to plan I'll start uploading tracks towards the end of the week or the weekend. I do have a fairly busy week ahead though, so things may get pushed back to early next week.

I will be contacting all of the people who submitted tracks thus far regarding linking, descriptions/artist information, logos/album art, and other assorted info. Currently, with the way the template is set up I will need the logo/album art to be 180x180, but anything that is already online (in a greater size) I can just resize myself. Additionally, I will be giving people the option to choose the visualizer colors (2 colors that are somewhat blended together as seen in the visualizer demo) for their given song.

Looking forward, the visualizer design may change in the future but I'm fairly content with the current layout. I also have been toying with the idea of doing custom visualizers based around a certain piece of artwork, but I don't think that will happen until a ways down the road.

@Dark Oyster - Superb, thanks for the submission!

@VCMG - I'll take a look through and grab a couple tracks, thanks a bunch!

@defPREMIUM - yikes, well, as long as it's not my face, I suppose I can live with that.

I'm working on finishing up version 1 of the intro and visualizer, so I should have them uploaded later today for everyone to check out and then I'll get cracking on getting the submissions uploaded.

@Akareyon - Excellent! I'll take a look through and grab a couple tracks.

@Feryl - Thanks! I'll add them to the list smile

@sandneil - I didn't know that channel existed, so thanks for pointing that out! I'm always interested in new music.

@SketchMan3 - I was trying to brainstorm stuff and that just popped into my head and nobody had taken it yet, so I kind of ran with it, haha. If people have better suggestions, please post them (I do like Modern Pulse Warefare haha)

@Dark Oyster - Yeah thats the basic idea, but I'm leaning moreso towards "frequency spectrum"-type visuals as opposed to just ambient effects, but thats not to say thats not an option either.

@sleepytimejessie - You're totally right, though now I'm going to have magazine ideas stuck in my head haha.

@Doxic - Glad you're interested! I'll sent out some PM's / emails once I get the visual stuff done so people can let me know what they want me to link to in the description or if they want me to use a particular song.

Hey guys, another bump/update.

I'm kinda working with the name "Pulsewidth Music" (channel name PWMusic [excuse the lack of everything]) for the whole youtube thing and I've got a preliminary intro bit done, which I may change if I get another idea or have more time to sit down and dedicate to it. Hopefully I'll be able to get the visualizer done within the next couple of days and then I'll probably upload the intro and sample visualizer output for some feedback from you guys and then get into uploading full material.

I'm probably going to start asking individual people for music submissions so that there is some base material so the channel can start building a bit of a viewer base, as I don't expect people will be readily submitting stuff before it has a decent number of followers.

That being said, if anyone has a particular track they would like to be shown on the channel, or if they are okay with me using material they have already uploaded on this site, bandcamp, soundcloud, etc. please don't hesitate to post in this thread or shoot me a quick pm.

Thanks!

tl;dr - Got channel started, working on visuals/setup, want people to submit tracks/artwork

@nickmaynard - Glad you're interested, do you have anything you want shown?

@sleepytimejesse - Excellent, thank you. I'll get in contact with you once I get the visuals sorted out.

Sorry for the bump, but if anyone has any ideas for the name of the channel or wants to submit music/artwork feel free to post in this thread or send me a quick pm.

Hopfully if this idea gets off the ground then we'll have a better way to submit content, but it's going to be a bit haphazard for now. For the time being I'm going to work on getting a base visualizer done and an intro sequence and then we'll go from there.

Hey Everyone,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I had an idea awhile back and just wanted to see if there was any interest. I mostly just want to see if this would be something that people would be interested in contributing to/getting involved with.

My thought is to do something along the lines of what Monstercat Media, Tasty Network, edmSpotlight, etc. do and provide a showcase of chipmusic and (to a somewhat lesser degree) 8-bit/sprite graphics. I've been dabbling in After Effects recently working on some visualizers, but as of right now I don't have any that are fully finished and ready to go yet.

I understand that there are a ton of sites, blogs, and netlabels that all do the exact same thing, but I feel as though there isn't necessarily a presence on youtube or something central that features a collection of content derived from all the aforementioned sources.

At this point it's still just a thought so if people could let me know what they think that would be great.

Thanks

I shot you a quick PM, and although I think we have pretty different styles I'm interested if you're still looking for people.

@SketchMan3 - Thanks for checking it out!, I made it available for download on Soundcloud for your convenience. However, I did upload the lossless version, so the download is pretty big, I'll get an mp3 up soon.

EDIT - Soundcloud wouldn't let me swap the file, so I just uploaded the mp3 separately. It can be found here:
